I had heard that multi-player sessions can be a bit silly, with other players just trying to crash into you, but tonight was fun. I set up a session on the big island, figuring that more players would be around, and after cruising around in the Icon (in SAR colours) spotted a Stearman flying low and slow...Before long we were having a friendly tag race between the tall trees, over the lava flows, and down low by the coast... It was sunset and getting darker, but then two more planes appeared, so we found a golf course and had an impromptu fly-in by landing on one of the fairways. At this point we started chatting via the texting box thingie, and shared out a case of virtual beer :)We then flew out and back up the Coast to Hilo, as the Stearman was getting low on fuel... I guided them all in (the external view back, seeing our ragtag formation was brilliant!) and we did a formation landing together before peeling off onto the grass and pulling up to say our various goodbyes (dinner was calling!)A promising start to many more multi-player sessions...Cheers,Nick

I run multipalyer whenever I'm on. I just leave it open. It feels better having other players flying around, as it adds real air traffic. I haven't set up anything in particular to do while in multi-player. Haven't had anyone try and crash into me at all. Only one minor wing clip while one the ground, since there is no way to get out and push the planes back to get around other planes when too close. :smile:Cheers,Darryl

The only problem I had with multiplayer, I was just finishing a long job, and I land nice and neat (for once), and this guy is parked right in the middle of the runway... just parked... and of course I crashed and failed the job... lol

I leave MP up all the time while doing jobs, missions, or otherwise minding my own business - it's just nice to have other planes flying around. . .never had anyone mess up what I was doing - sometimes people just pop in and out and other times the 'room' catches on and we fill it up with planes and chatter. . .good stuff

Yes - a wish of mine; that the start points are NOT on the runway. Imagine when the 787 turns up (one day, as rumours may indicate) and someone joins the game right in front of you on short final! The hold point (where available) would be more appropriate.Mike

Yea just had my first session today, same thing just left it open so anyone could join... ended up with a full house, and we flew around the main island, did a mock air show, and just a lot of other people doing their own thing. It was a lot of fun.

Yeah I leave MP on too while doing missions, the easy MP is one of my favorite Flight features, I like having the live sky with all the human airplanes, and in one of the sessions yesterday, some nice guy was playing ATC controller at Hilo using voice and text, and myself and another flier played along using proper ATC requests and pretty soon we had even a couple of new pilots asking for permission to land etc.It was pretty cool to see the impromptu light VATSIM atmosphere in Flight, especially for me it was a nice light pressure way to practice radio calls since I am still not confident enough to try it on VATSIM, everyone seemed to be enjoying.

Just the new feature were we can actually use the radio with voice its a nice thing to have over FSX.Now we just need a open chanel so that more than 16 pilots can join....

yeah you just have to adjust the mic in the LIVE settings under Voice .If you press tab and talk you transmit on the general voice chanel . If you hit CTRL+TAB you transmit on the frequency that your comm radio its on so anyone in that frequency can hear and talk to you . Today i try 122.8 while i was in Hilo and someone that was in another island could not hear me but the pilots at hilo could . So i think its also set by range im not 100% sure i will have to try again and test it out later.

No that's exactly what I would love to do! I had my first session this weekend, but found that I have problem with downloading anything via Markeplace (keeps crashing on start) which means that I can not download even preview models, and that makes the experience a tad poorer. I am planning to contact support today - or buy W7 if truly neaded.
