March 14, 201214 yr As the topic suggests, is there any way to combine AES and FS2Crew ground crew? I would really like to use the FS2Crew ground crew for p/b and engine start but since I also use AES which has it's own ground crew taking care of the same stuff I guess I have to choose only one of them or has someone found a way to be able to use both of them?

March 15, 201214 yr Commercial Member There's no API or SDK for AES... I've asked... so I can't control it directly.GSX has stated there may be an API for it so I can "talk" directly to it.Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
March 15, 201214 yr Author Ok, thanks for the info. Too bad there isn't a way for you to communicate with AES but good news you might be able to with GSX. I have both of them but I personally prefer AES since it is "tailor-made" for the airports it supports resulting in a very good and precise implementation. Not sure if it would do any good but I will ask about this over at Aerosoft as well, would be great if FS2Crew and AES could work together because both addons are really great!
March 15, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hey Bryan,Is there a chance, that FS2Crew simulates the talk to the Groundcrew only, without initializing the Pushback.I mean, that you could talk to the Ground Crew and say "Brakes released", but then FS2Crew doesn't start pushing you back.Instead you could use AES or GSX for Pushback and FS2Crew could recognize i.e. when the brakes are set again and you could continue talking to the Ground Crew after the Pushback. March 15, 201214 yr Don't have the NGX version, but if the dialogue has similar logic as the older 767 or 737 versions, you could just greet the ground crew, initiate pushback with AES controls, and once done, call the crew to disconnect and switch to taxi mode. Essentially just don't ask FS2Crew to start the push.
March 15, 201214 yr Author Thanks, I'll try that on my next flight. Didn't think you were allowed to skip any steps of the dialog once you initiated it.

March 15, 201214 yr Author I posted my wish for this over in the AES forum too so let's keep our fingers crossed AES comes up with the necessary API or SDK to make this possible, would be REALLY cool if you could talk to the AES ground crew using your voice :(
March 16, 201214 yr Author Don't have the NGX version, but if the dialogue has similar logic as the older 767 or 737 versions, you could just greet the ground crew, initiate pushback with AES controls, and once done, call the crew to disconnect and switch to taxi mode. Essentially just don't ask FS2Crew to start the push.Tried this on my last flight yesterday but couldn't get it to work. I started by saying "Ground from cockpit" and was greeted by the ground crew. I then let AES perform the p/b and once done I said "You are cleared to disconnect and go to hand signals" but I didn't receive any further replies from the FS2Crew ground crew.

That's all I can think of. You could try something else to that effect, like skipping greetings altogether or using the "no pushback" option.Btw, I thought AES was keyboard controlled. Wouldn't sending key presses work as a crude interface?
March 16, 201214 yr Author AES is keyboard controlled like you say but being able to actually communicate using your own voice instead of pressing keys on the keyboard would be so cool.
January 18, 201412 yr Hello to everybody! I am of the same opinion, that it would be great if AES and FS2CREW were to be connected and AES handled with voice commands! Has anybody contacted aerosoft for further info? Thanks a lot!
