Damn, Simmarket always do that to me LOL. Still for anyone who can live with a less flashy virtual cockpit, but likes decent systems, you can't go wrong for 15 quid. And for those who use the RXP 530 and fancy doing some avionics surgery, I can confirm that it slots right into the VC.

Old topic but I was in the market for one due to FSEconomy and saw that simMarket has the FSX and FS2004 version of the Virtualcol JS31 on sale for only 8.93eur, this sale is active until March 6th.

Yeah it's their old Fokker 50 updated to work with DX10 it seems.

Just a few grumps of warning...

I bought this when last on sale as I wanted a 'proper' Jetstream as I remember them, installed it then built a new PC.

With all the xmas sales I've only just got back to the Jetstream.

Couldn't find the second 'security' file for the install, couldn't log-on to the VC website (which is dreadful...), couldn't get them to send a new password.

Finally found an obfuscated .EXE with the same name as my purchase key (a Sherlock moment!) and got it installed.

Then couldn't start the b****r!

Even with the video which is hidden on the VC web-site.

Even with auto-start, which at best produced a cloud of smoke from one engine then quit after 5 minutes.

Finally discovered there seems to be a bug where the 2D throttle subpanel overrides all other controls, at least for the condition levers.

Eventually fired up (almost worth the hassle in achieving it :-) and airborne an hour late for crew-training...

Over the bay selected the 2D throttle subpanel again and the engines quit instantly - condition levers to cut.

A frantic airstart just recovered the situation feet above the water.

:-)

Will persevere, as despite wasting most of my evening it did turn into an interesting challenge and has potential.

And its mostly my own fault for not saving the anonymous security file away somewhere safe and documented.

Flight model a bit wooden, but consistent.

VC poor but functional (lots of tooltip errors).

Has anyone been able to find the promised extra liveries?

Cheers

Keith

Some of the responses in this thread are one of the reasons I don't frequent the FSX forum as often as I used too.
