Possible Top Down View Bug?

Featured Replies

Sometimes, not rarely but certainly occasionally, when I cycle through my view and it gets to the top down view, the image of my plane I am currently flying starts rising up directly toward me and keeps rising up until it eventually gets to the very top of the view - a very close up image, and then dissappears...Anyone else notice this behavior and I wonder is this just a bug in this view?

I have seen this as well. It only happens on certain planes though for me.

I just noticed this for the first time earlier today.

I like that, it looks cool! Never thought of it as a bug.

Hi,Unless I'm missing something here, I believe the effect can be replicated by pressing the plus or minus keys. It seems the apparent view altitude is what changes. As the altitude is changed the aircraft will be visible at some point. While in this view with the aircraft visible you can change it's size by varying its altitude. I think that this effect is the same as in Flight Simulator.Jim F.

I've seen it when I'm climbing. The altitude of the top down view is fixed, and the plane climbs through it. Pretty cool effect.Hook

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

It's the same in FSX. That's been around for years.Fred.
