March 25, 201214 yr Author Gosh, I hope not .. FSX being 6 years growing to 10 years old .. lets hope not. Can think a single piece of software that I thought the 10 yr version was adequate. The FSX of today is a far cry from the original, there are now 'must have' addons just about every week. And since the addon developers no longer have to deal with numerous versions of both FSX and the SDK, the world is open to them. Jay
March 25, 201214 yr That is true. I initiated a reinstall of FSX yesterday, and to compare the pictures included in the installer and what we have now is amazing. Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.

And since the addon developers no longer have to deal with numerous versions of both FSX and the SDK, the world is open to them. But they have to deal with the ridicilous limitations of the ancient engine plus bugs that no one is ever going to fix, and the world is thus really limited to them. Happy?I sure don't hope that civilian flightsim evolution stops with FSX. Wake up. It seems that FSX is the holy grail of the simulation for somebody, and that is plain silly.Edit: And who says sky is falling and for what? Because of Prepare3D's cheap license or for what? Should we really not support any other simulator "for years to come" than FSX or what? I'm really interested why OP thinks that some of us feel that sky is falling on us. Pretty heavy. I purchased P3D, continue with FSX and I don't feel that at all.

March 25, 201214 yr If P3d really does go to DX11 then I will make the switch to that. Otherwise, yes, FSX will live forever!!
