Great news Phil, hope it stays that way for you!

Yep. Unfortunatly I won't have much time testing since I leave for a family vacation tomorrow for one week. Awesome. Terrific. Terrible. No Flight for a week. But will try to check this forum here and there.

Have a great time on your vacation with your family Phil!! Try not to spend too much time focused on this stuff, enjoy those moments with the family all you can - it will be waiting when you get back!

Yeah, aren't vacations a drag! We'll be away during easter, to a lovely area but I'll be lucky to get 3g access at all on my phone - purgatory!

So everyone keep up the update impressions. I'm glad some are seeing real differences, I wasn't going mad. I'm positive that for the video settings I'd never seen 'maximum', so maybe the video customisation based on hardware is giving more breadth in options. All I can say is that when I put it on max, it was the first time it was really pushing my pc, whereas before its was absolutely smooth.

I really like the extra layer of detail in the distance. It's like another sim or enhanced Hawaii pack! The no. of trees in some areas is insane.

Happy Easter to everyone, or if you're not into that, Happy Holidays, esp in Oz, where we get Fri and Mon off. Do the Americans and Europeans get that simming time off? :-)

It's a major improvement over before the update, where they'd line up in rows.

I suspect they're intentionally unattractive to make people try the other weather themes, which are very interesting. It can't be coincidence that every other weather theme has reasonably attractive clouds.

Strange, after the update the fair weather clouds for me are still lined up at certain angles. I wish I could post a pic.

idk, is that not what clouds look like? i think they look good.

In 12 years of living on Oahu, I can't recall ever seeing a perfect layer of scattered puffball clouds like that. Not even once.

I've seen it, but only if I go looking for it. It's a lot better than it was.

Now... if they'd vary the sizes of the individual clouds a bit, randomize their positions just a bit more... maybe even give us some shapes besides "round"... even the artificial looking thermal clouds in CumulusX were more pleasing to the eye.

Heck, just look at any of the other weather themes. They don't need my advice, they already know how to make decent looking clouds.

The fair weather clouds don't seem to have changed with the new update. I don't go looking for them either but a minute after taking off straight ahead were about 5 rows of perfectly lined up clouds, kinda hard to miss and not notice.

Yep, they still look far too uniform to me, in fact could be worse as the draw distance is so good. Just more randomisation might be better at least!

In any other weather condition, the clouds in Flight look good, but in "fair" they are a joke. I always called them cotton balls.

Nothing has changed, they still line up as rows.

Great shots! I love the clouds and weather in Flight. I am very glad MS didn't go for those REX/FEX-like high res clouds which look unrealistic imho: I always set the clouds to the lowest possible resolution with those addons. My favorite theme is Low and threatening: awesome clouds, parts of blue, great light, great colors, some very light fog when you get higher: I think it looks awesome. And the wind in that theme is quite easy to fly in.

It is AMAZING that the team who made all this also made those crappy fair weather clouds...!
