April 2, 201214 yr How should that ARCAS work? In real world it would give you informatoin of the airline, doesn't it? In FS you don't fly for one, so where should that information come from? Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
April 2, 201214 yr A dummy ACARS, just for simulation purposes would be nice though. April 2, 201214 yr how about http://www.hoppie.nl/acars ? You would be able to communicate with ATC and a Dispatcher and an SDK is given. Hendrik Peter
April 2, 201214 yr I asked a similar question, but did not get an answer. It would be actually enough for me if there is an ACARS which show the event times like old PMDG. I think it may not be so difficult so realize that?
April 2, 201214 yr I like the 747x ACARS for the block times and was good for just your own knowing. I hope at least the 777x has it for those longer flights. -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang
April 2, 201214 yr Author I have the program Topcat whit acars. You can communicate whit it. For atc (vatsim, or else) like i do whit the vatmegroup shoult be nice to use acars in combination of the fmc of the ngx. For Emi, the information becomes than from a controler who can use Topcat whit acars .
April 2, 201214 yr TOPCAT actually uses Hoppies platform to access ACARS network. I entertained an idea of developing a FANS module that would connect to Hoppie ACARS and interface with the NGX MCDU, but unfortunately it was told by the team that they decided not to allow FMC access throught the SDK. By the way, Hoppie ACARS platform can access and download VATSIM ATIS, and a CPDLC software suite is available for ATC operation. --Peter Fabian

I currently use it in Bremen(EDDW). Hendrik Peter
April 2, 201214 yr Hendrik: Nice. Is it in regular use in vACC GER? I am not set up for VATSIM now, neither with ACARS module on my FSim PC, but if this can be used regularly I would most certainly go and try it online. --Peter Fabian
April 2, 201214 yr Hey guys. In the real thing ACARS let's you receive weather, atis, Notams, etc. it also let's you send email to the company directory; dispatch, crew Sked, operations, maintenance, etc. it does give you the OOOI times, out, off,on,in. We get out trim sheet the the ACARS unlink as well but this part isn't needed in the ngx. JackColwill Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
April 2, 201214 yr I think it would be more important to be able to import the route and decent weather forcast from AS2012.... Just my 2 cent's ____________________________________________________Richard Oberwinkler

April 3, 201214 yr Agree! +1 Fernando B ( I know I misspelled Boeing, I did it on purpose to make it Unique )
September 13, 201213 yr I think it would be more important to be able to import the route and decent weather forcast from AS2012.... Agree! I could easily settle with ACARS just drawing info from AS, or RealWX. Real world metar sometimes differ from NOAA, VATSIM or whatever, so you just can't google the weather at your destination. And yes, I like my FSX NGX in fullscreen (RealWx stays neatly in the background :-) best regards Bernt Michael Johansen|ENGM i7-960|ATI 5870|8 GB|Win7 64
