Pictures of our FS9/FSX/XP-10 Computers and Cockpits

My FSX is on the 240Gb OCZ Vertex 3. Loads FSX much more quickly than my previous installs on hard drives. If you use the Vertex 3 (or maybe any drive with the Sandforce controller), make sure the firmware is up to date before installing FSX. I had major problems with the early firmware although no problems since AugustCant say much about Raid although did contemplate it for while until some adverse posts appeared here.
Nah, I am not going to mess with RAID.Thanks for advice about Vertex 3.

Alain,Perhaps, but the thread is labeled "Pictures of our FSX Computers" so that members can post pictures of our FSX computers, not diluted down with whatever else anyone might see on the internet that grabs attention that is perhaps somehow or other simulation related. This is not the right place to post subjects which has nothing to do with any of us, or your own, or anyone else's FSX computer, setup or equipment. There are pictures here of over 50 different computer and cockpit setups from AVSIM members (plus a hamster), and there will be a whole lot more if it remains a gallery for just that (including occasional co-pilot hamsters and dogs happy.png ). There are lots of other threads to start posts like this all over the AVSIM boards, but not here. If you can remove it, that would be great. Thanks.Kind regards,

I am sorry) Unforchinatly for some reason I cant delete it, or even edit. Somebody from moderators team maybe can do that.

Here are pic's of my FSX Computer. See my signature for components.

Looks good Bank1. Those 980X CPUs are monsters!Kind regards,

Some pictures of my recent FSX/iRacing machine upgrade:My Old sim rig which I loved for the last 2 years, reliable and fast:HAF 932, i7-920@4ghz, Foxconn X58 Bloodrage MB, Megahalems push/pull cooler, 6GB G.Skill@2000, ATI5870CFi79204ghzmegahalems.jpgMy new awesome SandyBridge upgrade:HAF 932, [email protected], Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3, 8GB G.Skill@1600, Corsair H100, ATI580CFi52500k48ghzh100.jpgInterestingly enough my new H100 fan controller didn't work, and it turns out Corsair is having a manufacturing problem with bad fan controllers on H100s shipped to NA, mine was one of them, when I checked their support forums it looks like lots of people having bad H100s and having to RMA them and sometimes getting a bad one a second time, inexcusable for a $120 cooler IMHO, so I returned the H100 for a refund and went back to trusty old air cooling where a fan failure is easy to fix, so got a Noctua D14 since my trusty Megahalems will be going with my i7-920 into the wife's computer, both the H100 and D14 had similar idle temps at 28c and FSX temps in the mid 50c, and due to the broken fan controller I was not able to compare full load temps, but my D14 peaks at 74c under Prime load so is in the same ballpark as the H100 at full fan speed. My revised new system:HAF 932, [email protected], Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3, 8GB G.Skill@1600, Noctua D14, ATI580CFi52500k48ghzd14.jpgAnd here is my somewhat messy desk which has been a custom MFD tabletop to handle my Eyefinity triple monitors used mainly for iRacing which along with FSX takes up most of my time, note I also have a XBOX360 and PS3 behind the monitors which is used for Forza4 and GT5 racing too, excuse the messy cables from all the headphones, TIR, throttle, rudder, trimwheel, racing wheel, pedals and shifter madness :-)kludgersflightsimracesi.jpgThanks to everyone sharing info here which was a good guide on my Sandybridge upgrade, FSX feels much smoother and I can handle ORBX S43 and payware planes now without losing FPS or getting the blurries, I am a happy FSX simmer.
