April 21, 201214 yr On my 7200 RPM HDD, Flight takes at least 3-4 minutes to start, which just seems way too long. So how long does it take to start for you? Start timing when you open the shortcut and stop timing when the home screen comes up. Please mention what type of hard drive you're using as well. Jehan Kateli
April 21, 201214 yr All DLC except Zero. 40 seconds to the main menu, 50 seconds to Live login and aerocache indicators. It's supposed to be faster on subsequent loadings, maybe half the time, but this was after a reboot. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
April 22, 201214 yr From launch - double click the Flight icon - to the main menu for play, was 55 seconds for me. I have a 7200 rpm hard drive. Don B

April 22, 201214 yr What DLC do you have? Everything with the exception of the Zero. I would also add - while it is on the same physical disc as my C partition, it is set up on a seperate partition - my E partition. I don't know if that would make any difference in load time though. Don B
April 22, 201214 yr When it says "Loading Content", does it actually read every files in the DLC packs? That is the step that is taking the longest for me, even though all the DLC files combined is no more than 1GB.
April 22, 201214 yr I think I have a 5200 RPM hard drive and it takes me about a minute and then I'm flying. I have 8 gigabytes of DDR2, a Quad Core Processor OCed at 3.6Ghz, and an HD 6870 Radeon graphics card. I'll be upgrading to a new motherboard, 12 Gigabytes of DDR3, and a new processor in a month or so though.
April 22, 201214 yr All DLC, except he last cockpitless plane. The PC I’m using has: Intel Board DX580G, RAM 12GB Drive C: ST3500413AS Barracuda 7200.12 SATA 6Gb/s 500GB Drive D: ST3500418AS Barracuda 7200.12 SATA 3Gb/s 500GB (Flight, FSX, etc. drive ATM) First cold load time: From double-click Flight to ready to play = 53 seconds. Subsequent load times = 32-34 seconds. (Including Loading Content which takes ~ 10 seconds) (I do manual login, so I have to click on LIVE login screen twice) I have Flight installed on other PCs with Hybrid and Intel SSD drives, but Im away till Monday Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
April 22, 201214 yr At the end of the day, it loads pretty darn fast ! What is the difference anyway. Remember how long it used to take to load prorgrams much smaller then this?
April 22, 201214 yr With an Intel 320 SSD, Core i7 2600k @ 3.4, 12gb DDR3 ram, I get a load time to the main menu of 14 seconds. That's with all DLC except cockpitless planes
April 22, 201214 yr The startup varies. i think it`s not the loading times that make it slow, but downloading online data like LIVE and Aerocaches of the day. 7 seconds into main screen, then it takes 25-40 seconds to login to live. Then roundabout 5-10 seconds loading content. After 41 seconds i am on the map ingame earliest, latest 1 min. That's with all DLC except cockpitless planes. OZC Vertex 3 SSD, Core I5-750 @ 2,8GHz 4GB RAM.
April 22, 201214 yr I think it depends on a lot of things. One thing for sure is that it takes longer with the Hawaii pack than without. There is a question to the Team floating around asking if the load time will increase as further packs arrive. I would hope not but maybe they will answer that in due course. There is a question to the Team floating around asking if the load time will increase as further packs arrive. I would hope not but maybe they will answer that in due course. Now I'm worried. Alaska has 120 times the land area of Hawaii, which means the DLC size will be huge - it will probably double the total size of the Flight folder. This could mean it could take double the time for Flight to start up, which means I'll have to wait 6 minutes for Flight to start after I've bought Alaska! :Nail Biting: Jehan Kateli
