>>What PMDG should have done is offered each package at $39.95 and create an upgrade for buyers who purchased the first package at $22.95 (special limited pricing, etc). This is what RPS did on their Ready For Pushback-2nd Generation software.800/900.Pete

I do remember the PMDG announcement and yes I did comment at that time.

>I do remember the PMDG announcement and yes I did comment at>that time.So then why beat on a dead horse now?Or an even better pricing scheme....charge $25 for each 600, 700, 800 and 900 versions. You've got your choice in spades now. And $80 for the whole package! Ha!

The thing that these guys like Darryl and Barryward do not understand is that the product is not about "600/700" or "800/900", but rather that it is about the panel, the systems, the optional configurations, the FMC, and the failures. If your problem is that you "don't like the look of the 600/700" and don't want to pay for that half, then you're most likely a casual simmer and would never be able to enjoy the product in the first place if you bought it. If you bought it, you'd be instead posting messages titled "I can't get it started, I'm bringing it back to the store!". For those of us who've bought the entire thing, it matters not one bit that it is a "600/700" or "800/900", the important thing is getting full spectrum of working features and the completeness of the 737NG set. Which is why you see such a polarizing effect here in these two threads. Those who've bought it and enjoy it see these complainers as ludicrous and superficial...casual simmers who will never fathom the depth of PMDG's accomplishment. If you "don't like" the 600/700 and don't want to pay for it, it is best that you just leave this product alone because as a casual game player, you would most likely never be able to get it off the ground anyways and would end up feeling like you've wasted either $40 or $60.

I really think people are missing the point here...NO-ONE at PMDG are trying to charge anyone around $62 for the 737/800-900 series as this new 'package' is an UPGRADE. It always was going to be an upgrade and no-one at PMDG has ever suggested anything different.Given that $39.95 is acceptable for the 737 600/700, if that's what you want, buy it and enjoy it. Excellent value for money with all the free addon liveries etc. Also ground-breaking as far as true-to-life sims are concerned. If you want to ADD to the systems you've bought (and also get a plane with a longer fuselage), buy the UPGRADE. Again, in it's own right, excellent value for $22.95.A couple of comparisons? Buy a car with steel wheels and enjoy getting around in it. When Alloy wheels suddenly become available for it as an addon, don't expect them free. Also, if you want a truer example of being ripped off in the 'sim' world, take a look at Ariane's pricing. There, you buy the SAME over and over - at PMDG, you get real UPGRADES.Toni.

>>Wonderful and thanks for your "Law of Minimum Astonishment">>comment. >>>>The originator simply stated that he believes the cost>exceeds>>the value. PMDG needs to consider that and either do>nothing,>>raise the price or lower it. >>>>What ever happened to this community when you could ask>>questions or lament without stupid replies like the above>>quote.>>>>BobP.... >>>Your next...>>:)Next for what? Are you the new forum bully? You have 2 posts in this thread that are off topic and dumb. I now have 1. You going for 3?BobP...

I guess principally it is as easy as some people here already said: either you are prepared to pay such a high price for a flightsim-add-on or you are not. You are not obliged to buy such an add-on ! The *REALLY* interesting question however is: is it WORTH the price, is it good enough to justify spending such an amount of money for ONE type of aircraft (= the 737NG) ? I gladly spent a much higher amount for the Aerowinx PS1.3 simulator and have never regretted it. However is the PMDG 737, too, worth its price ? The *original* version of the PMDG 737-600/700 clearly was NOT worth its price. Too many bugs BY FAR! PMDG themselves later told their customers they had corrected 70+ bugs in an update for the 737. But it is clearly not acceptable for an add-on of this price-range to have that many bugs in the first place! Will the 737-800/900 be better in this regard? I really don

"Yes bobp, it's funny how some posts get moderated here and others don't, perhaps it goes on the amount of posts made. I made one slip of a word months ago and it got deleted,"I resent that. We can't be here 24/7. Take some responsibility as a forum community member; if you see a post that offends you, or violates our policies, PUSH THE ALERT button. Simple, and you can then share in the responsibility of helping us to prevent this kind of crap.

The fact remains it is 62.00 for one type of plane and besides the 441 conquest is coming out in week and that is the one I have been waiting on. I am sure it will not cost 62.00. I know it is not as complex as the 737, NO but it will be a damn good aircraft. My wife can handle 20-30 dollars better than telling Her I am spending 62 on one airplane.

I don

Oh and to michal, I know they are games but so is this. If I wanted real flying I would put down 50.00 a hour for a 150 at the local FBO and go flying. The PMDG is complex but it is still no where near like the real thing so it is a game. there is no where near the amount of people buying the PMDG as BFV but I just can not see paying that much for one plane and I have bought the PMDG 1900 and lots and lots of other add ons but this one I am refusing to pay such a high price. This is not a slam on PMDG I am sure they priced it where they thought they had too and it is a business so I wish them well. Me I will wait for the DF 737 and ATR to get real system simulation. I am sure it will not be priced as high.

>And yes, I will "blindly" buy their products as they are>released because I know they will be of the highest quality>and I don't mind paying for quality. My late grandpappy once taught me this: "Quality my son, is like buying oats. If you want nice, fresh oats you have to be willing to pay the farmer a fair price. If you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse though, they are a lot cheaper!" :-lol
