G'dayWell its time to weigh into this debate. The PMDG is from my opinion clearly by a long long way the most advanced aircraft released for FS9.By a long way.The FMC/AP in the NG are far moe advanced than the 76 so in my opinion the product is better than PIC by some margin. These two products have been clearly the best two releases ever for the FS series in terms of sophistication and attention to detail. All of the freeware releases mentioned above are excellent in there own right for what they setout to achieve but none attempt to go anywhere near the level of PIC/PMDG.PS1.3 has major limitations and is no longer being developed so we are left with PMDG and possibly a new PIC2 at somepoint in the future.PIC is now in limbo with a new version hopefully under developement.Numerous friends of mine are using the PMDG NG to assist with FMC/AP training on the real aircraft and its accuracy is outstanding and getting broader and better with each release. It really is simple. If you want to see what really happens on the flightdeck of a NG you pay your 60 USD.From where i am it is money well spent for a look behind the real flight deck door of a modern airliner, its systems, operation and limitations.Something which is not available in any other package for FS9.Considering the price that pretty much everyone has paid into there PC's to be able to run FS9 i find it amazing that people are complaining about the price of the highest fidelity modern aircraft sim available to the market.Darren Howie

<>Not to mention CS upgrades have been free to registered users. And I always get friendly, quick and on the level tech support too. Like the others have said, don't like it, don't purchase. So I won't. 600/700 was the last money PMDG will see from me.

Not sure how we can argue about value and worth. Whether or not an item is "worth" the price is a function of the individual's opinion on that item. In my opinion, the price is well worth it. That doesn't mean the next person who doesn't is wrong. We just have different opinions. Isn't that still OK?

Think of how much the price would be for an hour of actual 737NG Level "D" training time... Once I pay my $62.90 I can fly the 737NG for as much as I want with no additional cost. Heck my Cessna training was $100+ a flight... In the big scheme of Aviation (the cost of training, enjoyment, etc.), Flight Simulator and it's addons are cheep no matter how you look at it...

Exactly Dillon,If this was a low quality piece of payware we were talking about here, I'd fully agree it's too much, (and believe me I know there's some of that out there) but the NG is bar none the most advanced and polished addon airliner ever made for FS. It is not some hack job that they just arbitrarily decided they'd charge $60+ dollars for. YEARS went into the development of this and it's as close as you can get to sitting in the real aircraft on a home PC.Are you guys gonna #### like this about cost when 767PIC2 comes out and continues the legacy of that legendary addon to us with major upgrades? If that happens, I hope Wade and Co. just pull the plug and give it to no one...

I cannot resist.....It is amazing when you think about how long it takes you to make a dollar, pound, franc, mark, etc. and compare that to what you can buy with it. Then you add in the hours of enjoyment, frustration, satisfaction, regrets, etc. It is amazing how one FS addon can cost as much as a cheap motel stay, a movie for 4 people, a dinner at a fancy resturaunt, etc. All of the payware I have, is worth every penny to me. Because I think of the hours of enjoyment they have brought. I also think about all the freeware that has brought hours of enjoyment, and they are just as valuable as payware.I do agree that all the people who gripe (not targeting a single person) brings this hobby to a low. I do enjoy talking with those that have inteligent opinions (good and bad), like person that started this post. No one needs to be flamed for an opinion....:)Just an opinion:)

...I just hate the sententence"It's worth every penny...."...go ask that to someone who's starving somewhere in Africa...You're penny is worth what you think is good for you...but it might differ from someone else. That beeing said....those who are fortunate enough to have the 62$(which is overvalued in my opinion)to spend to get all the PMDG NG models...that's good for you...but please...don't say it's worth every penny...some people have other things to spend money on..Happy flying...ps,i think it's a totally useless debateRichard CYHZ
