...maybe they choose only to model certain parts of it.

I see what you mean, but have not read (or heard rumours) of anything like that happening...

Let's hope that is not what is delivered before the end of Spring...

No cockpit and/or no simultaneous release of deluxe (Basic in FSX terms!) aircraft= instant 0. No exceptions

Mark, unless you are somehow privy to unit cost and sales margin information, as well as Microsoft's sales predictions for the next 6 months, I would respectfully suggest that using unclear (regional?) Steam data to claim 'total failure' of a game within weeks of launch is pretty unhelpful, assuming that we share an interest in Flight's success...

Remember that Microsoft owe us nothing, zip, nada. Although we might all have fondly imagined it, I don't recall reading anything in the FSX Eula to suggest a guarantee or even a promise of subsequent iterations of the same format of game. In my own view anyone who believes that risks being branded as 'dumb' as you suggest...

I would be glad to read a comment made by you on :

1) poll results

2) Flight facebook feedbacks

3) poll " Zero " results

4) flight web sites feedbacks

5) Steam Flight DLC stats in your country

6) MS Flight official site comments

Then, if someone keep on telling the world that the DLC sold digital copies have exceeded the expectations and if I compare this statement with all the above mentioned data. well, I see a huge discrepancy between what MS says compared to real data.

That lead me to think someone is lying and I tend to doubt about who is not sincere and honest denying the evidence of data.

Told that, I am happy to analyze MS sales and I have no hate against Flight. It would be like shooting on the red cross.

I wonder where this sentiment comes from. I keep seeing it in many posts. Using this logic, if you were to buy a word processor from a company and they delivered a spreadsheet application instead, that would be fine since you actually can write in it?

And yes; this applies, even though the main program is free but you are being fooled into buying upgrades to allow it to write more than 200 characters, it's still not a word processor.

It would be more like you thought you were buying a word processor but you only bought a file viewer. It was marketed as a word processor, but at the bottom of the software description it says "Viewing and printing functions only. No editing capability is included."

Interesting analogies here. To some extent Flight does include a file viewer, it's the download a preview function.

I actually think that Microsoft have been relatively transparent with their new product. Yes, it was not what was hoped for - everyone understands that. Yes, there was anger at not getting what was hoped for, in terms of ATC and long-haul jet flight, and from 3rd part developers for being locked out for the time being from Flight, but Microsoft have never suggested that any of these things were on the cards with this new game/sim (whatever).

By offering Big Island free, and in the first few weeks releasing simple planes for 7 bucks, complex ones for 15 bucks, and the extra islands and challenges for 10 bucks they were making it totally clear what the product was and what were its limitations (as well as potential).

So not too sure why anyone wanting a spreadsheet thinks they have been ripped off ;)

We are not taking the position of lawyers pointing out what is missing in Flight and what MS told in the EULA, we are simply politely criticizing a game that has a huge potential but in truth is a huge failure.

It would be like shooting on the red cross.

Damn right it would. And those nurses would be very, very cross with you, and you know what happens then...

Joking apart I only feel the need to 'protect' Flight from regular 'sniping' because despite its shortcomings it does have a little something, a little magic, and endlessly negative comments (in all those sources you mention) will not influence the Flight team in any constructive way, but are corrosive on casual gamers who might otherwise become interested. That demand dampening effect is not, I would argue, in our best long-term interest.

I told you are the kind of forumer that IMO is a intelligent guy, despite you like Flight.

You are polite and you do not point to a person but to his ideas and this behaviour is an intelligent one.

Told that, I am a very well experienced sniper and until Flight will have ( if ever.. ) a decent plane over a decent scenario with an ATC, a weather engine just to start from, I am obliged to shoot at it. ( as constructive criticism )

Just a suggestion, but... If you are going to offer "constructive" criticism perhaps it would be more effective to offer it in a constructive way rather than as a "war"?

Constructive criticism about Flight is pretty useless as nobody in Flight team actually cares to read any of it and listen their customers.

So, Plan B is to take a dump on AVSIM?

Perhaps offering the constructive criticism to Microsoft instead of the the end users would be more, constructive?

My own thoughts are that the majority of us do love the potential of MS Flight and many people have offered constructive criticism on the MS Flight forum and have received absolutely no feedback from anyone at MS Flight, so the next best thing that can be done is to come to sights such as this one to vent their frustrations in the slim hope that someone from MS is watching these forums(doubtful, but hope does spring eternal).

Just take a look at MS Flight forums and it seems like a very onesided revolt is happening. I am sure if the hoards could they would have stormed the gates of Flight and burned in down by now. lol

At least 3 of the MS Flight team read this forum everyday. 2 of those are part of the dev team.

So yes, they DO read these threads.

I can just imagine their frustration having to read some of the c**p that gets posted here !
