I actually can tell why people think that the P40 is pathetic. They think it is pathetic because it has no VC. People think that no VC=Pathetic Aircraft. What about Captain Sim's aircraft? They released the exterior of their triple seven over half a year ago. No one's complaining why it is taking so long to make an interior. Same thing here. Why complain when you get an aircraft you can fly? You can still have fun with no VC.

You guys have to accept Flight for what it is, including the DLC. Just because you don't get a plane without a cockpit doesn't mean that it is horrible or pathetic. Cope with the hard times. It's not like you haven't before.

For example, when FSX came out, people were complaining about the minimum requirements and the flight dynamics. What do we have now with FSX? Almost everyone can run it with a lot of options maxed out and there are a lot of 3rd party addons to support it.

Just be patient. The devs will eventually create aircraft DLC by itself that includes a VC. No one knows what the path it is heading in. Not even the developers.

Captain Sim have got grilled in the past about releasing incomplete aircraft. Their forum is closely moderated and those posts don't last more than a few minutes.

Different people have different expectations and different perceptions of 'fun'. I personally cannot have fun with an aircraft that doesn't have a cockpit.

Microsoft are releasing these 'Lite' aircraft because people are buying them and are willing to pay money for them. It's easier and quicker to make an aircraft when they don't have to bother modelling the extra details of a cockpit, so if they see enough satisfied people using these aircraft then they won't bother making cockpits because they don't have to.

The more of these cockpitless aircraft they sell, the more they're likely to make. It's just business.

Very true. That's all it's about. I expect the 'lite' models to outnumber the complex models, just as users of the lite ones outnumber those prepared (or even desperate) to buy 'proper' planes (or helis)... This current trio of former war planes were each appropriate for Hawaii... And offer an easy way for those on pocket money to add to their stable...

Patience is a virtue.

I really like polls because in a blink of an eye they output the feedbacks of dozens of men.

Thx

At least with captain sim you can add a freeware panel of your choice, which makes it flyable.

I think its pathetic because its serves no purpose at all. It does the same thing the Zero and the P51 do, which is nothing. The amount of joy these warbirds bring is very limited by the fact that you can do nothing with them but fly, long flights with no cockpit = boredom beyond belief.

Cope with the hard times? Who even knows if better content is even being considered? The Flight team is so secretive about what they are doing it leaves little room for hope. So what, I am just supposed to sit around and wait, hoping they release content that is worthwhile?

If you enjoy the casual planes, so be it, but there are people out there who want proper aircraft as well, right now there is no variety in Flight and it is killing the game.

I share your thought.

Anyway, rumors say that more cockpitless warbirds will come in the next months and even worst rumors say Alaska will be without airports, only few grass and dirty runways sparse into the wild.

If you think these rumors are false, well, the same source announced 3-4 cockpitless warbirds 2 months ago and no one believed that.............. :Monkey:

I don't need a source to see that coming... I wouldn't be surprised if Alaska is broken up into "zones" and you can't actually fly from one end to the other.

Back to the RV for low level manruvering, the Curtiss will not cut it. I did manage to get the p-40 on the ground flying in trail but it was not pretty. I did move the camara back into the cockpit but it's just not the same. I did not get the -51 or the Zero but throught I should give it a try. Never again!

I'm starting to like it a bit more now flying from inside. I can land every time now. I will still stick to RV for tight turn under 200 feet, the turning radius is just big with the -40 to avoid a stall in a high bank close to the ground. I do not like trying to fly it from a outside view. I don't see how anyone could and survive very long.

Just like the " Zero " poll who released the same sentence, we have another self explanatory poll and its votes are a clear evidence.

Each company in its marketing behaviour states this and that have sold far from the expetations, that's the usual boring marketing dept policy no one nowdays believes no more.

If you look at Steam stats you can clearly see that only Hawaii region sold quite well, all the other DLC is a total failure.

So, MS, please just do not keep on feeding us with your company policies, this forum, world forums, web sites, Flight site, Flight Facebook etc etc. everything witnesses the opposite.

MS, we are not so dumb as you keep on believing.

If you look at Steam stats you can clearly see that only Hawaii region sold quite well, all the rest is a total failure.

Mark, unless you are somehow privy to unit cost and sales margin information, as well as Microsoft's sales predictions for the next 6 months, I would respectfully suggest that using unclear (regional?) Steam data to claim 'total failure' of a game within weeks of launch is pretty unhelpful, assuming that we share an interest in Flight's success...

Remember that Microsoft owe us nothing, zip, nada. Although we might all have fondly imagined it, I don't recall reading anything in the FSX Eula to suggest a guarantee or even a promise of subsequent iterations of the same format of game. In my own view anyone who believes that risks being branded as 'dumb' as you suggest...

I can land every time now...

Congratulations - landing is the key to successful flight! I thought it might be pretty hard to see anything with that long P40 nose out front. Do you tend to cut the corner and make your base leg more of a lightly banked turn in?

I wouldn't be surprised if Alaska is broken up into "zones" and you can't actually fly from one end to the other.

That's a strange thought. What makes you say that? I mean you can already fly from one end of the Hawaiian island chain to the other (if you really want to!), so why not in Alaska too?

Making whole Alaska in high quality is a bit different thing than making few beautiful islands that have loads of good quality data available for use. So maybe they choose only to model certain parts of it.
