At least 3 of the MS Flight team read this forum everyday. 2 of those are part of the dev team.

So yes, they DO read these threads.

I can just imagine their frustration having to read some of the c**p that gets posted here !

Fred.

Fred,

if they did read this forum, why they never read polls like the Zero one or the P-40 one ?

I respect everyone's opinions but a 9/10 really? Are people's expectations that low or are they just not being realistic? PMDG 737 NGX is in the 9/10 or 10/10 category and people would put a cockpit-less external model in the same league? Forget about Flight, that is like putting the CS external 737 model on the same playing field as the NGX, is that realistic?

Again, I respect that they rate it that high but I don't understand it at all... Where does the Flight team go in terms of feedback if people say a cockpit-less plane is essentially perfect?

And I have to say, the lack of any ability to have a civil conversation in these forums is disgusting. All the "if you don't like it then leave" and the constant un-provoked :Loser: used in regards to people who don't share an OP's viewpoint is like a bunch of 5 year olds in kindergarten who have no respect for anyone else's opinion or even the right to have a differing opinion! There needs to be a lot of growing up and skin thickening in these forums, simply ignoring everyone who doesn't share your opinion is mind blowing to me but hey, I want to hear what everyone has to say whether I agree with it or not. Although this post probably got me added to at least 3 ignore lists if I wasn't there already

Not to mine ++

There are many very protective folks (mostly serial posters) that take it as a personal insult if their opinion is questioned. Almost like Apple ###### :)

Hello Paul

Part of the problem is that this forum and its users were given special protection early on, with only positive postings being allowed.

This has created a forum where it is impossible to discuss Flight! objectively, with a handful of regulars who will defend Flight! against even the slightest criticism.

If this forum had been left to develop on its own I feel that it would have settled down eventually and be a more tolerant place than it is today.

While I certainly agree that all opinions on a subject should be heard, sadly, you only have to look at pretty much every single other flight sim forum on the internet when "Flight" comes up to see what would have happened here without that "protection."

Was the protection carried too far? Yes. Way way way way too far. It should have been quite sufficient to heavily and personally moderate anyone getting out of line, on both sides of the arguments. That whole "Positive posts only" banner should never have existed, as it's created a flawed sense of entitlement.

The reality is, though, it was probably a no-win scenario whatever AVSIM did.

Just out of curiosity I checked other forums discussing about Flight.

The interesting thing is that in most forums Flight has been simply dismissed by the majority of posters, or is substantially ignored, apart some posts just after the February release.

Avsim chose a peculiar route, with the main moderators clearly endorsing the product, and a very stringent policy about the critics. By reading the Net, including the Flight FB page and News site, and seeing the first statistics about the real use of the program, one could think that this is practically the only place where Flight collect so many lovers. I dont' know if this is the reason of a certain "aggressiveness", maybe.

I guess they've calmed down. At the time the AVSIM policy went into effect, any attempt to discuss Flight elsewhere resulted in the poster simply being shouted down or told to take a hike. This was literally the only place Flight even could be discussed, specifically due to that heavy-handed policy.

But its time has passed, especially if the rioting elsewhere has ended. I simply stopped even looking at other forums, so I hadn't noticed.

Hello

Apart from a handful of "Hardcore" Flight! supporters, I feel this forum is starting to become more balanced.

And that is good.

Flight! is far from perfect but is also not as bad a some would make out.

If its shortcomings are allowed to be openly discussed and if the Flight! Dev's do actually visit here and read those criticisms then some good may come of it.

Hello

Great in what way ?, lets have a mini review, what sets this one apart from other flightsim aircraft.

I think that devs are not guilty for all the Flight issues or missing. One man leads them so during work time they are obliged to eat what he orders, to wear Hawaiian dresses, to drink what he commands and of course to develop what he loves most than everything in the world : WWII cockpitless stuff.

I feel you devs, just let us know how to help you to escape from the developing prison he built around you. We are here to save you and to support you.

Just get in touch with us, we will manage to find a way to let you escape from the WWII cockpitless Alcatraz nightmare.

my experience in the p-40 is that it hates to fly right side up. Also why is the pilot seated so far forward? I assume the fact that his or her hand on the controls has no actual effect on the aircraft, but it wants to dive and the avatar is holding forward pressure on the stick. coincidence? probably.

I was under the impression that this thread was called, P-40 lets rate it! What happended?

Locked, whole thread purely meant to be flaming! Original poster suspended if he posts in the Flight forum again within 30 days.
