HATE to spoil the party, going to inject some level of realist thinking. The pictures in Munich would have been a rush to complete, so they had something to talk about. People wouldn't have been that impressed by a munich conference with a presentation on the 777 and no nice pictures. I would take them with a pinch of salt ;)

 

I recall Ryan saying that he had a completely working alpha version, in addition to which, while Robert showed screen shots of the cockpit, all of the displays were blanked out because Robert said he didn't want their test data getting out, or something like that.

 

Just my 2 cents but it doesn't sound rushed to me.

Or, it's not rushed in PMDG terms of development, but if someone like myself went and saw how far into it they were and how much has been done since then, then I would think its rushed.

 

Ah well, still can't freakin wait!

At the end of the day PMDG is a business. The stuff RSR showed at the convention was of an uncomplete product. No big deal.

 

Screens were likely blanked out becasue they are in development and incomplete.. THe VC is in pieces and being assembled. No Photos from the top of the plane because the wings did not have finished textures. No evidence of sounds, animations, etc.

 

Furthermore, it would be naive for us to believe anything is happening " soon"....Thats speculative and subject to interpetation, esepecially when it comes to the detailed and complex products of PMDG

Or you could just say they were only a little over half way in to the project in March, I agree on the textures. Still a lot to be done (exterior). Good points on animations etc too! Rob did say the Flight Deck was fully functioning and working though. VC Textures look perfect, just one fault. The Autobrakes don't have the little lines pointing to (1,2,3 etc) but they'll get back to things later like Rob said. I believe the Checklists and MFD's are still being worked on, along with getting everything lined up which is why screens were off at Munich because it showed all the test data. The PFD is the same as the NGX except it has a few different features like in the NGX when you arm the FD when Flight Planning you don't get TO/GA and just small things like that which I guess are easy changes for PMDG ha.

 

I know I personally get a little excited and exaggerate then realise later ha. Just think about it though, it's May tomorrow so look how quick this Year is going! Don't worry, we'll get her.. soon

That is great to hear Jason, I'm such a huge fan of your (and the teams) work strictly from a 3d artists viewpoint, it's amazing to see the level of quality and frankly "The Love" that is put into PMDG products. Thanks for the update.

 

For those who can remember back to the days when the NGX was in beta, I specifically remember a PMDG staff person mentioning that there was a team already working on the 777 prior to the release of the NGX. Therefore, this would mean that the T7 has been in development quite a bit longer than the average forum-goer expects. I also remember that it was speculated that the beta time for the T7 could possibly be considerably shorter than the NGX due to the new programming structure they implemented.

 

There's some speculating about the speculated speculations!
