April 27, 200422 yr Stop the bashing everyone! Competition is a great thing. The more product the merrier. We will only benefit. Heaven knows I've got tons of PMDG, tons of Ariane, tons of PSS, tons of Jet City and countless other payware and freeware files in my hard drive. It's fun. I can fly different things at different times depending on what I'm in the mood for. Chances are I'll also own the Ariane NG panel too. It's a hobby, gang! Relax, it's supposed to be fun!Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
April 27, 200422 yr Hey, unless you've been here awhile, you have no idea of the type of company that Ariane is.It was in one of it's previous lives, Papa Tango, and the owners dealings with American Airlines still has reverberations felt throughout the community? (Wonder why you can't get AA liveries on any payware like UT?).Competition is good, but if Ariane is like any of the previous incontations of the company, I would keep a strong hand on my billfold.
April 27, 200422 yr I don't think anyone is bashing here--other than the Ariane site itself.... I have the Ariane 733--but that doesn't mean I have to like the way they present themselves. That, and this is a public forum and users should know who and what they are dealing with... If the "bashing" is to stop, then Ariane needs to change its style. No doubt public opinion is weighed in their decisions based on the latest junk I see written on their website....'nuff said
April 27, 200422 yr I had the 733 and panel in FS2k2 and I have never even tried to get a new version for FS9. It wasnt bad just not what I was into. I have nothing bad to say about them other than I hated paying for every livery. The PMDG 737NG is more to my likeing with the free liveries. I do look forward to the Dreamfleet clasics though.Andrew Andrew
April 27, 200422 yr Hi John,>No doubt public opinion is weighed in their decisions based on the latest junk I see written on their website....http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
April 27, 200422 yr Their website seemed pretty quick to me Gosta--with pics as well. Sure you don't have any spyware afoot--I've dealt with problems with some web pages when spyware takes ahold on some of our field systems... Ariane's page looks well done and professionally presented to me--it's just the "way" it sells that gets under my skin...:)

April 27, 200422 yr >Derogatory remarks from a>"professional" company are a big turn off. Insulting PMDG, to>me, I may be naive but not knowing much about Ariane I went to their site looking for those insulting and derogatory remarks. Could not find any. Sure a lot of hard-hitting 'advertising' in style of TV commercials but I could not find anything insulting. Someone could help me with this ?Michael J. Michael J.
April 27, 200422 yr Thanks John, there was indeed some spyware on my computer, but that's been eliminated now :). Unfortunately, still no luck with Ariane, though. I checked on my wife's computer, and it's the same...Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
April 27, 200422 yr Read the section in "News" specific to the NG panel being introduced. Although careful not to mention anyone by name, the entire page takes swipes at freeware and payware alike in the "Q and A" dialog. It seems to inasmuch suggest that other vendors (and how many payware players are in the 737NG market?) aren't delivering a sincere effort at a strong product. And as usual, it seems to drop hints that everyone is playing catchup to Ariane. How is that insulting? I don't know anyone at PMDG directly or have their NG product, but I've learned enough of design and assisting in projects (see my just released Jabiru update) that I know the people at PMDG delivered an aircraft of the highest quality based on 100's of man hours worth of effort. And, one has to keep in mind that some of the issues hinted at--that of the aircraft and panels not being "true" FS2004 aircraft, weren't even possible until release of the SDK's. The only visual model I've seen so far that seems to exploit new FS2004 functionality is the recently released DC-10-30, which has the most realistic wing movement in flight of any aircraft I've ever seen. But I can't help wonder if Ariane will add that to their NG and either take credit for it, or "trademark" it in some way.I make no bones that I have an issue with Ariane's style. The spoiler animation in their original 737-300 GMAX release was completely fouled up. Rather than patch it, they sold a new model as an upgrade and added a few bells and whistles to make it look like an upgrade. Now that they are on the prowl again, and seemingly pulling out all the stops, even knowing this thread will be deleted I feel I have to say something to the several dozen newbies to our community since Ariane's last ad blitz....
April 27, 200422 yr Could be a firewall issue of some kind, although it could also be possible their servers are mirrored and you are being routed to a different one than I am. My own company keeps such mirrors up and it greatly helps our 24x7 operation. Our consumers never know which server they are running on, and when one goes down, they are supposed to be directed to the one that is active...-John
April 27, 200422 yr Hmmm, the server would explain why other people are having the same problem. Having said that, Norton Internet Security is a widespread product, which could also be the common denominator...I'll try without firewall, and see what happens.Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
April 27, 200422 yr Here is a list of "swipes" at PMDG. How do I know? Becuase the ONLY payware NG availalbe is the PMDG model (a little common sense goes a long way) ;)1. "I bought a ' real Ng Cockpit" - (are you sure it looks REAL...)?2. ...and when we say "clickable VC cockpit" you will see what we mean by "clickable" (and not "most" switches as somewhere else) because with the NEW SEries from ARIANE, what you can see in 3d is what you CAN click!3. "...I already spent my money on a REAL Ng" ... but how real is REAL...4. "But my cockpit is a new Ng" - not if it came out for FS2002 first it won't be.5. The systems we designed for our new Boeing 737 Ng Series are ALL NEW CODE (not reworked, old FS2002 stuff). ALL NEW CODE.6. Not 'upgraded' ... not 'updated' ... not 'uprated' ... NEW.If those are not swipes at PMDG then I do not now what is!!I cannot believe that they would stoop to this level (well, maybe I can). In addition, Ariane Studios' 737s in the past have had some of the WORST textures I have ever seen on a payware aircraft.Ariane Studios, if you are reading this, you can go pound sand.P.S. And your (Ariane) 737 nose is still wrong. Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
April 28, 200422 yr Here is one of my favorites "No 'schemes' that try to lock you into a 'you MUST buy a previous product' situation to get ALL the kit you want. We will deliver the FULL package. Complete. No "ifs", "buts" or "must this or that" ..." This from a group of copy cats, threat to sue you and your whole blood line, charge you as much for a sound set for the 737 as PMDG did for a complete update -800-900 and have the GALL to spit such royal BS on the public! If it looks like slime, smells like slime it must be slime! Peter who? [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. April 28, 200422 yr OK, I'm going to admit that I haven't looked at the Ariane web site since they were releasing their first 737 models, you know, the ones where the cockpits would come later. After reading Ariane's news, I see that they have many more models available now. Other than that, the rhetoric is just as strong and the "coming soon" cockpit sales pitch is still being used. After reading all of the latest news, my wallet isn't itching to jump out of my back pocket. Maybe it has to do with Ariane stating: "HANG ON TO YOUR MONEY EVERYONE - THE BEST IS YET TO COME !"Now was that in reference to holding onto our money so we won't spend it on a competing product until Ariane finally releases that promised cockpit? Or was Ariane trying to say, hold onto your money and don't buy from us because you are going to find another 737NG product along with a ton of free liveries? :-lol Finally (and I know this is a nitpick, but it's a pet peeve of mine), right on the top of the front page, Ariane says THE MOST ADVANCED BOEING 737 Ng EVER RELEASED IS ON FINALS...Yes, there are plenty of simmers that also use the word FINALS, but come on, this is suppose to be written by a professional :-erks marketer. It's "FINAL", as in "on final approach", not FINALS! How many times has the product made a missed approach and had to go around to be able to claim more than one approach? :+
