Competition is a great thing but fraud isn't. I think it's our responsibility to try and prevent a whole new group of simmers from getting scammed.David

> "No 'schemes' that try to lock you into a 'you MUST buy a>previous product' situation to get ALL the kit you want. We>will deliver the FULL package. Complete. No "ifs", "buts" or>"must this or that" ...>"That coming from a company that charges by the livery not by the model :D What an amazing stupendiously crazy thing to put up in public. Hows that "full package" fit into all of this compared to PMDG's free liveries ??Furthermore how can a product that - according to them - has been under way for 2 years, be "..made for fs2004 only"? Oh well if they want to show off their business practicing skills like they do so be it - wont make alot of customers I am sure ;-)

What is incredible is the complete twisting of facts about the PMDG developement process in regards to FS2004! Araine gives the DECIETFUL impression that PMDG's 737 NG was *first* developed for fs2002 and the CODE UPDATED for fs2004! That is a LIE and shows you to what lengths Araine will go to make PMDG look bad. The TRUTH is the the NG was co-developed for BOTH sims at the same time! In fact PMDG were beta members for Microsoft's fs2004! So please take what is printed on Araine's site with a grain of salt (in a wound) as you can see my my correction they speak about things they have no idea about... [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Come on everyone Give them a Fair Go before you start Bashing there new Product!! At least wait till it comes out and been tested!!!! I Love the PMDG 737 I think its the Best FS add on ever made for Flightsim!!! its good to see the competion!!!

I admit certain degree of ignorance. I heard of Ariane before but never made it to their website - until today. I was just curious what the uproar was all about. I admit their claims border on impudance. Their products are used in universities & aviation training establishments .. is there even 1/10 of truth in this claim ?But apart from their language I admire most of their pics. A VC with this level of photo-realism would be pretty incredible. But most importantly what kind of quality of simulation it will deliver.. :-hmmmMichael J.

<...Their products are used in universities & aviation training establishments .. is there even 1/10 of truth in this claim ?>Michael, I tend to agree with your scepticism. Based on past experience, the only thing larger than P.T.'s ego is his imagination. Why not drop Ariane a line (email) asking for more details/proof of this claim (and others)? In fact, to put his P.R. to the test, maybe many community members should question Ariane. I'll start by asking how it's possible that they started writing the code for an exclusively FS2004 product well before FS2004 was released.... Short of legal threats, it'll be interesting to hear if you get a reply.Toni.

Not posted here for a while so I suppose this gives me an excuse for the 90 days usage LOL !It's pretty poor business when somebody (Peter) has to go lower into the gutter. Knocking your comptetition in this manner is very unproffessional to say the least. Can you imagine if Doctors began this type of practice ?Of course it's designed to un nerve prospective clients, whoever any body thinking of one or the other, consider this. One produces nothing in house, therefore service is led by 3rd parties. (who will reply IF they've been paid)The claim of FS2002 "old" stuff, well..look back to the origanal model Ariane is offering..where did it begin life ?The company "owners" hide behind dubious claims of said ownership (c'mon Nev..where are you ?)The owners new / old (know body knows the truth here !) owes approx

A private SWIPE at PMDG:Back when they first released thier 737-400 model for FS2002, and a lot of people were getting it to slave with the DF737 panel, (remember the controversy here when someone released free repaints of it in the BA livery?), I visited the site to consider purchasing it. I inadvertantly subscribed to their newsletter.Anyway, long story short, about a couple weeks ago, I got the latest copy of their newsletter in my email and took a look at it. In the newsletter, they said: "All our models are accurately modelled based on Airline. So if you but a Continental 737, rest assured that its modelled after an actual real life Continental 737, the one with that particular registration number. All of our liveries have their own models accurately modelled after their real world counterparts. Not like some other companies that give you one model and repaints based on that one model and claim that its accurate."Now, while reading this, I actually started laughing, imagining Peter Tishma going to Continental airlines and photographing "that particular" COA737, then waltzing on over to Delta and photographing "that particular" DAL737. However, when I read the last part, which was so obviously an unfair swipe at PMDG, I got a bit angry. My first instinct was to post it here on the forums, but I figured that no one would care. I see now that I should have posted it.Anyway, I deleted the email in disgust. For those of you that are new, Peter Tishma has trust a sword deep into the hearts of flightsim enthusiasts everywhere. In my opinion, he shouldn't be supported in any way, shape or form. Its a pity that he seems to have some talented people working for/with him...that 737-400 at the time was really well done. But, I didn't buy it and even when a friend offered it to me for free, I downright refused to get it. Sorry, but I will never support anything that guy is involved in.Looking forward to the next newsletter.

In the interests of fairness and to provide a balanced view it would be interesting if AVSIM could ask an independent reviewer to provide a detailed "flight test" of both the PMDG and Ariane offerings? From what I can see both aircraft look very nice - I already own the PMDG 737NG and agree that it is CURRENTLY the best airliner addon for FS2004. AVSIM and the other simulator websites are here (one presumes) to provide flight simulator enthusiasts with unbiased news and information on the latest freeware and payware offerings. Has there been an AVSIM review of the PMDG 737NG? I haven't seen one yet. This is an excellent chance for both PMDG and ARIANE to provide the software for review and THEN let the battle commence rather than starting an extremely biased thread "slagging off" a product before it has even been released.Let the best "aeroplane" win!RegardsAdam

AdamI agree that Avsim should review products offered to them by the developers and report their findings in an honest and unbiased way - in the main, that's what Avsim have always done. However, there are a few points to note:1. Ariane has yet to produce anything regarding the NG panel - at the moment, 'it's all talk and hype'. So a comparison anytime soon isn't possible.2. The gist of this thread is relating to Ariane's totally false and very misleading claims to try and avert people from buying the already publihed and well-acclaimed PMDG version. i.e. It's Ariane who are trying to 'slag' the PMDG product. No-one's 'slagging off' the Ariane rendition as it currently doesn't exist. (Personally, I have serious doubts about whether it ever will be published and if so, whether the systems will come close to PMDG's offering...)3. Peter Tishma sending anything free to Avsim for review will never happen and I'm sure Avsim won't buy the product from Tishma! As I said earlier, "deja-moo"!Toni.

Frankly...this stuff oughta be on email.

Let's be frank .... most of you will buy the Ariane 737NG! Many people say that they have a problem with PT and the past ... but many of you can't resist payware ... PERIOD :-lol (don't ask me why! :-hmmm)

can somebody pinpoint me to their website ? As a PMDG-fan, readin this thread and knowing their history, I wanna have a look.regards,Thomas

You know what, guys at Ariane? You'd rather do another plane because the 737 NG is PERFECTLY covered by PMDG!What we need is a 777, as it seems that Phoenix isn't doing it...AC5
