May 8, 201214 yr Hello X-Planers, This is a heads up to make sure you all know about the upcoming Town Hall meeting with Austin Meyer of X-Plane on May 19th at 18:30 GMT (2:30 PM EST) using live Teamspeak. We expect that we will have a lot of interest and attendance. Here is Tom Allensworth's announcement: http://forum.avsim.n...-meyer-x-plane/ Would you be so kind as to inform your friends and contacts in the X-Plane world so that they will be able to attend if they wish. I encourage you to download Teamspeak before then, and join the Avsim Teamspeak forums, as it will be rather busy setting this all up on that day. here's how: http://forum.avsim.n...eak_server.html Be sure to think about your questions that would be most suitable for the interview, ones that would help to have those outside the community understand and perhaps engage in X-Plane. Please help us make this meeting an outstanding success for both X-Plane and AVSIM. What say you all?
May 8, 201214 yr Hi, will there be a podcast of the event? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
May 8, 201214 yr Author Not sure yet about a podcast. At the moment it would be best to plan to attend live so as not to risk missing it.
May 8, 201214 yr PRE-ASSIGNING CITIZENSHIP: When you sign into the TeamSpeak server, you will be assigned "citizenship". Since there are many organizations using this system, you will be assigned an AVSIM ciitizenship to identify you from the other organization members online at the time. MODERATION PROCESS: During the event, attendees will be asked to mute their microphones and when they have a question of Austin or the AVSIM staff, you will text a simple "?" (question mark) in the text area of the TeamSpeak client software. Those questions will be then allowed by a moderator. This is in order to keep the potential for confusion down. We may experiment with this and other approaches during the Town Hall meeting however, to see if there is a better way. PREREGISTER: There really is no registration process, except for that of assigning citizenship. However, we encourage everyone to download the TeamSpek client and get online with it in advance of the Town Hall on the 19th.

Since there are many organizations using this system, you will be assigned an AVSIM ciitizenship to identify you from the other organization members online at the time. This will be/should be a well attended meeting at DigitalThemePark.org, that also sponsors/hosts the event and in fact delivers the citizenship required to attend. I am surprised this is not made EXPLICIT! I am ALSO a proud member of ts3.digitalthemepark.com Many muliplayer events take place at DTP. Welcome ALL AVSIM, lets get flying/sharing our mutual experience. Fly-in and Events Schedule: <Google Calendar in Pacific Time Zone> Tomas AOA10, VPA437 Caracas, Venezuela Regards, Tomas Muñoz

May 9, 201214 yr I think a podcast would be appreciated. The date and time of the meeting clashes with the annual Flight Sim Convention being held on 19th and 20th May in the Helicopter Museum, Weston-super-Mare, England..
May 9, 201214 yr I'm not sure if I have the time to attend. But I'd be very happy if someone could record the meeting and upload it somewhere. Regards, Tom
May 9, 201214 yr I'm with Tregarth and Tom. Due to my schedule, I will not be able to attend, But I would love to have an audio recording of the event. I am interested to know what Austin is working on currently. A new user interface I suspect, and that would go a long way towards bringing in more folks who are put off by it's current UI. Also, X-Plane going 64 bit I predict will be another big topic. Have fun guys, And don't be afraid to ask the hard questions! May 9, 201214 yr Just adding my voice among those respectfully requesting a podcast. Working a lot of overtime lately and can't make the live event. Thanks!
