May 16, 201214 yr I've noticed that in real world flights when the flight crew check the recall button the master caution light also lights up. In the NGX the Master caution only illuminates on recall if there is a problem and it should illuminate even if there isn't one when checking the recall button. WIll this be added in a future SP? Kind Regards, Dan
May 16, 201214 yr I thought it illuminated even if there wasnt a problem on mine? Will have to double check though Elliot Westacott
May 16, 201214 yr Author I thought it illuminated even if there wasnt a problem on mine? Will have to double check though Oh? It doesn't on mine so that would be interesting to know.
May 16, 201214 yr Author Anyone else know if their mastercaution light illuminates upon recall with no failures present?
May 16, 201214 yr Author Oh, doesn't do it for me, that's very weird. Any idea what the problem could be?
May 16, 201214 yr Have I understood correctly: the recall switch is (exclusively/only) the Lights Test switch? That's how I read FCOM 2. Many thanks. David David Abrahams
May 16, 201214 yr Author The Recall switch I am referring to is the rectangle shaped button next to the mastercaution which indicates problems, and pilots press this at certain phases during the flight such as before takeoff to check there are no problems indicated on it, but in doing so in real world whent hey press it all the failure messages illuminate along with the mastercaution light. In the NGX when I do this the Mastercaution light doesn't illuminate.
May 16, 201214 yr Only the system annuciator lights illuminate for me. The master caution lights do not illuminate.
May 16, 201214 yr It does not light up for me when i press recall! Anders Weber ATPL(A) Student EKBI - Billund, Denmark
May 16, 201214 yr Author See attached picture: The mastercation light doesn't illuminate, in the real world it does. See here: Skip to 10:35 and you see them test the recall and the Master caution also illuminates. This is a 737-300 but it's the same for the NG series I just can't find the video where I saw it. Can also see them check the recall again if you skip to 12:14 and as you can see the Mastercaution light also illuminates...

On my more attentive reading of FCOM 2's final section on warning systems, the rectangle you are correctly pressing is the "system annunciator panel", which is where the specific fault zone is identified (e.g. "Elec" if the fault is ... electrical). Guess it's spring- loaded like the Master Caution button. Will be giving it a squeeze tomorrow and leave out the second lights test (though that also brings up any unresolved fault warnings.) Best wishes, David David Abrahams
May 17, 201214 yr it doesnt for me either I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
May 17, 201214 yr Ok I've actually paid close attention on my last leg tonight, if the yellow light turns on check the FO's side if no warnings pop on the captain's side. That means that something is not set or operating correctly and if the yellow light stays off during the check then all is well. Never gave much thought into it until now.
