June 16, 201213 yr You definitely would get a video of some guys sitting at computers all day long looking at code and support tickets lol. I'd love to show the process of surveying an airplane or something like that, but that's an issue for the airlines, not us - we're usually under pretty strict agreements regarding that stuff and what can be done with the material. I know this might sound strange, but would it ever be possible to get a picture and a short bio for each developer? I'd love to put a face to a name.

From a guy that is supposedly very introverted, that does sound strange. Perhaps they have their own personal Facebook pages? Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

June 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member Gents- Maybe one of these days we can make a film about how we do some things in relation to making the simulations as realistic as we do... But it probably won't happen on this project. A big part of making it happen would require convincing any of our airline partners that showing their public support won't bring them legal headaches. You'd be amazed at how twitchy the big airlines are. They are eager to help- but they don't want us to acknowledge the access for fear of litigation coming in through some unseen back door. I suppose I could take a photo of myself staring at a logic diagram... If you sit and watch it for 8-12hrs for 6 days straight- that would give you a pretty good idea what my week looks like. June 17, 201213 yr for fear of litigation I'm genuinely curious-what sort of litigation. I did not know assisting a software developer was a tort.

June 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member I don't think anybody is interested in watching me go over a CAD drawing with a ruler and remaking parts on the screen in max. All the while having several books, magazines and photographs open and scattered all over my desk while I'm leaning back in my chair staring at the screen figuring out how to get around another FSX quirk... Ya'll will be falling asleep... June 17, 201213 yr Must be a very rewarding one tho?! Although I am not a PMDG developer, I think I can answer that for you.The development cycle of a product is very time consuming and frustrating as you are always thinking about how can I make this scenery better or how I can make my work flow more efficient so I can get a release quicker and please senior management (which aren't very friendly!).The most rewarding part of being a developer is the product release, especially when you see people purchase your software on forums and when they give you positive comments, nothing compares to the pride and satisfaction you get! That pretty much covers how I view development (although fellow AWG Sim developers may think differently and other companies developers might have a different opinion also!)
