June 15, 201213 yr Hi. I like to follow P3D's progress, for maybe buy it one day. When i tried to access Loocked Martin's P3D forum today, i only find GeoSketch and it's forum. Maybe i have missed something here, or what is this?
June 15, 201213 yr Commercial Member What the ??????? It's completely gone. website now resolves to another context. I don't know what's going on but as a registered and paying member of that product I have contact Lockheed to ask for an explanation.
June 15, 201213 yr I hope that you all won't get screwed over, but that wouldn't be a surprise when you consider who you are dealing with. It will be an interesting few days once the news spreads. I would like to see the looks on some peoples faces who called P3D the next coming. Interestingly, they show that P3D is a partner along with Digipede. Isn't Geosketch a Google plugin? \Robert Hamlich/
June 15, 201213 yr I would rather give Lockheed Martin my money for P3D than buy the still for sale FSX. . =============================================== Announcement: Ressuerection of Service regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
June 15, 201213 yr Looks like the whole site has gone! All my bookmarked links are now returning 404! June 15, 201213 yr Hi, The look on my face is the same as when I realized that P3D blows FSX right out of the water (), nothing has changed. L/M's web site disappears for a short while and all of a sudden its the end of P3D, you guys really kill me. I would like to see the looks on some peoples faces who called P3D the next coming. The spreading of what news?. That Lockheed Martin had a problem with their web site, what company hasn't had a problem with their site at one time or another. I don't think that qualifies as a news worthy event that's going to get the P3D community in an uproar. It will be an interesting few days once the news spreads. We're dealing with Lockheed Martin not some fly-by-night company. The federal government can no longer afford to spend millions of dollars on large scale (real life) training exercises, the cost is just to prohibitive. That's where the simulators come in, Lockheed Martin saw the need for these simulators and began future development of Microsofts ESP. I am ecstatic that Lockheed Martin took over development of ESP. They have taken FSX the GAME and have begun to turn it into P3D the Flight Simulator, they have even given the professional/non professional and student pilots an opportunity to tag along, how great is that. I believe L/M's involvement with flight simulation is the greatest thing that has ever happened to Flight Simulation since its inception. I hope that you all won't get screwed over, but that wouldn't be a surprise when you consider who you are dealing with. Not only is P3D the next coming (IMHO), it's already here!. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd rather have Lockheed Martin working on my flight simulator than Microsoft. P3D the next coming. Another added benefit to Prepar3d, just about all of my FSX addons work. June 16, 201213 yr Commercial Member I think they had a serious database problem, perhaps a migration of servers or something like that. The fact that the website resolved to the another webpage and the previous days database problem (showed when landing on the page a couple of days ago) indicated there was something wrong. It looked like they pointed the prepar3d site to the other one so at least they wouldn't have had a blank page when people navigated to it. My emotions ran a little because there is usually some sort of notice that comes with a situation like this but we had nothing, not even a database issue or website problem notice. We are dealing with a company that acts independantly with a different vision to that of Microsoft in its early days of Flight Sim. From the recent situation around MS Flight and the emotional response from those who really treated Flight Sim X as a comitted hobby, this scenario just triggers those emotions for some who are stuck on P3d and for those who paid $$ for it. I happen to use it for real world training so it's significant to me. However, admittedly, it is easy to catastrophise a situation like this. Let's move on.... I consider this topic expired! From the horses mouth... Hey All, We had some unplanned website maintenance and downtime this week. This wasn't planned, but our website team thinks that everything is good to go. That being said, there are always hiccups, and I can't promise there won't be anymore, but they're committed to keeping it well maintained and up. Some of you might have been redirected to Tacforge.com. Don't be alarmed or surprised by this, this is another LM company and product and they develop the GeoSketch product that we also feature as a tool for Prepar3D. Software Manager - Prepar3D® Team
