June 20, 201213 yr Could someone use their talents and make us the American airlines Livery for the -700 and -900? It would be much appreciated! Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major
June 21, 201213 yr I think was requested some time ago, no word though on how it went. The thing is, people tend to spend more time doing real liveries opposed to fictional ones, but I do wish you the best.
June 21, 201213 yr Most people tend to follow RW fleet arrangements (AA only operates the 800's) so an AA 700 and 900 wouldn't be that popular. The exception might be with the 777 but AA has ordered them and will receive the ER's by year's end. Alex Jevdic --- KORD A<380-----Love at first flight

(The metal that gives you a headache at the airport? Yeah.) :LMAO: I also like the Oneworld livery on the 777-200ER: i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 22, 201213 yr with the merger of AA and us airways coming soon i couldn't say if we will see the 737-9 ever in AA liveries.
June 22, 201213 yr with the merger of AA and us airways coming soon i couldn't say if we will see the 737-9 ever in AA liveries. US Airways doesn't have any 737NG. They only have 47 classics. (737-300 & 737-400) It's funny how US Airways has Airbus aircraft, and are phasing out their entire Boeing fleet except for the 757s. June 22, 201213 yr Of course there is no official merger going on but speculation if there is an American/US Airways merger there would be a hybrid paint job kind of like Continental/United. I did read that American has been studying a new livery for about 18 months now. They haven't let us in on anything they are looking at though. With planes like the 787 coming we won't be able to have bare aluminum planes anymore. Tom Landry

With planes like the 787 coming we won't be able to have bare aluminum planes anymore. AA used silver reflective paint on their A300's that did the job really well. I love the polished aluminum it saves fuel by not having to haul that heavy paint around (think 1 jug can be heavy, multiply that by how many is needed to paint a jet) and the polished aluminum looks awesome on a sunny day. As for the mergers with US I have my doubts on that especially with US's still separate seniority lists among other issues. 18 months do design a livery on a piece of paper? Wow. Kinda hard to find a suitable replacement to one of the world's most iconic liveries. Alex Jevdic --- KORD A<380-----Love at first flight
June 22, 201213 yr Kinda hard to find a suitable replacement to one of the world's most iconic liveries. Meh. Most travelers are not like us; they could care less what airplane they are flying in, and most importantly, what livery. Do you think they know the difference between a Boeing 737 and a Boeing 777? I don't think so. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 22, 201213 yr Kinda hard to find a suitable replacement to one of the world's most iconic liveries. Alex I wouldn't say one of the world's most iconic liveries. I would be blunt about it and say the worlds iconic livery. Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
June 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member If the merger happens, the aircraft will be in American Airlines livery. USAirways will cease to exist. Not what I heard - AWE is the stronger airline at this point and I think they want to keep the US Airways name. June 22, 201213 yr Ryan, US Airways will be the acquiring airline but the name will be American Airlines due to brand recognition. The corporate offices will also be in Dallas. It's much the same scenario as when America West acquired US Airways. The US Airways name was kept because of brand recognition. While I don't have any inside information ( employees are always the last to know), I work for US Airways at DFW and this is what is being reported here. http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/blog/morning-edition/2012/06/with-merger-us-airways-would-take.html
