ALASKA IS OUT...?

Featured Replies

I edited the topic title because obvioulsy Alaska is NOT YET out. It is a nice find, jucasim, but probably MS is indeed testing something or preparing the release. I am also sure some chief at MS will be having a word with the responsible employee because obviously this is not something that should have happened.

Anyway, please don't say it's out before it actually can be bought.

I presume that soon we will be able to buy Alaska as one download and not as seperate files. One thing is clear, though: the Carbon Cub indeed has no VC.

4GB makes sense for the total; it's the 600MB base pack that I said seemed small. I guess everything depends on what these separate packs mean. If they are separated for some logistical issue then fine, but if they are separate purchases that might be a bit of a bummer depending on pricing. Of course, MS could just tell us what's going on instead of doling out cryptic hints in their news updates as if everything is some big secret.

It also says "no cockpit included" so that can be interpreted as in saying that the cockpit is not included, but can be separate. I hope so. If the CC has a pit, ill keep throwing money at my monitor till the damn thing downloads!

I´m sorry J van E, didn´t mean to post anything false, i did because after visiting the site my "inside game" Marketplace place started "loading new content" (and it still is, maybe because of the size) i thought i should post to see if somebody were able to play it!

But i´m pretty sure it is out to someone! (no harm meant)

Just as a suggestion, is there any way change the "NOT YET" tag to "STILL CHECKING" or something, so people that maybe is able to download does not ignore the post? (i understand if you can´t...no problem)

I understand the enthusiasm and that you meant no harm.

Microsoft posted on their Facebook page saying the Alaska content on their website is a pre-release testing bug :-(

Here's what it says....

Due to a bug in the release testing process, some Alaska content is showing up early on the www.microsoftflight.com website, and may interfere with purchasing existing content from that site. Please use xbox.com, Steam or the in-game marketplace for purchases until we get this resolved. Thank you for your patience!

Interesting that they have not taken that off the website. Maybe they just decided to leave it on for 48 more hours (actually less) until the content is available. This "mistake" does seem to pose more questions than answers.

Maybe I am skeptical but a part of me thinks this may not be a mistake after all. I mean all these posts in under 2 hours seems to make the enthusiam swell even more. Looks like to me it is free advertising prior to release......

I have yet to find this Facebook page for Microsoft. I see one page for Flight but there are no posts on it. How do you search for their Facebook page where they are posting stuff?

Looking at the different LCs listed and taking those together with the tropical LCs I imagine are used for Hawaii, MSF seems to now have the LCs needed to cover a significant part of the world. Maybe they can now start pumping out the regions. :)

Thanks, hard to figure why Facebooks own search wont pull it up.

I use Google to search everything, rather than the built-in search engines (which are often junk).

Tip: Adding "site:domain.name" to your Google search terms will return results only for that domain. So, you could search AVSIM by adding "site:avsim.net" to the end.
