July 1, 201213 yr snip - that was extremely long. :P Remember that you're on a board heavily dominated by such enthusiast. At any rate, look at the comment you quoted of mine and remember to whom and why I made that comment. I'll stay short to keep from hijacking this thread: I hate making compromises. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
July 1, 201213 yr Holy mother! $3500??!! That's seriously the biggest PC rip-off I've ever seen. You could build that PC yourself for under 1000$. For $1250 you could have gotten a i7 2700K with a GTX 680. What a rip-off. I've also made this mistake once a few years ago. Gotten an Acer PC for 1000$, it had an i7 860 and a GTX 320, I got told that the GTX 320 was a high-end card, and I didn't know anything about PC's at that moment, turns out it's crap. Now I've got a PC that's worth around 1250$, and it runs FSX 3 times as good as that Acer PC. My best tip? Put that PC on eBay, if you get 3000$ for it you can build a PC yourself that's way better and barely hafl the price. Yes you'll lose a lot of money, but it's the best solution. With that PC, you can get better performance, but not MUCH better. If you have a good FSX.cfg you should be getting around 20 FPS in the same situation, but expect it too be laggy. Arjen Vandervelde
July 3, 201213 yr Author What do you guys think of this? Good price or over priced? http://store.dataparts.net.au/product/i/1-1244720/n/Core+i7-2600K+3+4GHz+8MB+LGA1155.html
July 3, 201213 yr Man, for 3500$ I would have gladly built you the screamer computer and configured it myself and have it delivered to you, no matter where you live.

I've come back to this thread a few times, each time trying to figure out how to respond regarding $3500. Well done, Word Not Allowed! I couldn't agree more. July 6, 201213 yr What do you guys think of this? Good price or over priced? Where abouts are you located? I see that site is in Aus. That's overpriced. You can pick up a 2700K for $339 AUD give or take including GST. -Anthony Young- "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci
July 6, 201213 yr I've come back to this thread a few times, each time trying to figure out how to respond regarding $3500. Yeah, me too. However, I can understand someone buying and paying too much like that when they are new to the hobby or advanced systems. What I don't get are those that diminish what overclocking and highly tuned modern systems will do. :p0310: Here in this forum are some of the most knowledgable people in the world in our particular area of expertise, and we still can't make believers out of those who don't even know what they don't know. :p0305: Kind regards,

July 6, 201213 yr Sorry to do this again Word Not Allowed but you seem to have missed another signature rule change, yes its the second such change in a week or so. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/378695-new-signature-rules-and-other-changes/ By the way your hardware guide link is broken too. Cheers, Andy.
