July 4, 201213 yr Sorry, my bad..Porter Goes Pro ... Some awesome flying here.. Wow. You are correct. This would make an awesome addition. The video is sooooo good that the scenery almost looks real. :Money Eyes: Those are what you might call 'mimimal airstrips'. I can see why he needs a rock deflector on the wheels. Ray Check this out. Just made the purchase. Thanks for the post. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
July 4, 201213 yr I removed a few posts. Please, people, don't bite but PM me if you have a problem. How often do I have to say that...???
July 4, 201213 yr Flight as it is now isn't really ideal for creating places like the UK, where you have way too many cities. I don't know if I would like a huge Flight scenery with mainly cities... Got to take issue with this after just coming back from a walk. A very recent survey says that only 2.27% of the UK is built on.Visitors always think it is more until they get out of the London area.

Yep, there is a lot of green area on that island and tons of small airports. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
July 4, 201213 yr We are getting more into scenery we would like to see... so, anything but maybe Kansas and the central Sahara. But as to what MS is likely to do next, I just don't see any big surprises coming. It's hard to make any real predictions with the two data-points so far, but MS usually plays a conservative game.
July 4, 201213 yr Wow, Ray that is a great little ad don..Buying it now too!...And check out the kids and animals on some of those strips! GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte

July 4, 201213 yr Remember this interview with Josh Howard a few months back - "TA: What other “fixes” or mods are coming that you can talk about? JH: We think of extending Flight in many different ways, including by addressing issues that need to be fixed (it’s no shame to admit that Flight has some bugs), as well as by adding more content (planes, places, and things to do), and bringing in whole new features or capabilities. We have begun talking about Alaska, as our next expansion, but are still not ready to talk about the ways in which Alaska expands the Flight experience beyond just having a very different kind of geography to fly over. We will start discussing those details soon, though. But even beyond that, the team is hard at work already on the expansion after Alaska, we just don’t want to spoil the fun and reveal too much too soon." http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?app=ccs&module=pages§ion=pages&folder=%2FAVSIM+Pages&id=8 This was back in March I do believe. My take is that the Alaska we have is mostly what we're going to get as far as terrain/scenery goes, with maybe a few updates to fix bugs etc. Yeah, Alaska isn't perfect or as good as Hawaii but some areas can be pretty stunning and detailed, especially flying around Denali.
July 4, 201213 yr Good catch on that remark. "Very different kind of geography" would seem to rule out the logical choices of Western Canada and maybe even the PNW. Norway also, I guess. South Africa? California? Italy?
July 4, 201213 yr I wanna see them do the Middle East, it would be nice to see how they can re-create bigger cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc...
July 4, 201213 yr East Africa Rift Valley & Serengeti area would be fun. Tom Constantine The Old Hangar http://mainescenery.proboards.com
July 4, 201213 yr Hi Folks but are still not ready to talk aboutthe ways in which Alaska expands the Flight experience beyond just having a very different kind of geography to fly over. ATB Paul ODG Preview
July 5, 201213 yr Author Less obvious: the framework for ATC and autopilot is in place (look at the currently underutilized VOR and frequency identifications and the detail of the checklists). With that I'd expect to see more options for people who wish to fly IFR- look at the inclusion of a VOR waypoint and an ILS landing mission right away in Alaska. That will provide support for larger planes. As far as I remember ,from the pictures posted in a portfolio of a designer who worked on flight, next DLC will be Africa . I agree on the fact that we already have a framework for ATC. Perhaps this could be one of the new features or capabilities that will be added soon. And Africa sounds like a great possibility for the future. Just a feeling...
