Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released

Lotsa snow and ice down here. Brrrrrr.

You can totally max out all your FSX sliders down here. Matter of fact, that is the recommended settings. Something different for me. Same for the traffic, not that I have seen anybody else yet.

Here are the first three gauges I have done. I'd like to know if I made any mistakes. Are all the marking correct as far as green circles and red marks? I am just following the current gauges 1 for 1.

To install:

Download this CAB file: http://www.thiscellu...x/Basler_HD.CAB

Save it to \SimObjects\airplanes\Basler_BT67\panel or \Gauges if you want to use them with other aircraft.

Make the following changes in [Vcockpit01] section of the panel.cfg:

pixel_size=1024,1024
gauge09=Basler_HD!itt, 361,441,68,68
gauge10=Basler_HD!torque, 432,109,78,78
gauge15=Basler_HD!prop_rpm, 265,288,68,68
gauge18=Basler_HD!itt2, 263,148,68,68
gauge19=Basler_HD!prop_rpm2, 262,85,68,68
gauge20=Basler_HD!torque2, 336,271,78,78

I will update everyone when I have more gauges finished. Enjoy!

Edit: You need to replace the exisitng entries in the panel.cfg. Ex: Replace pixel_size=512,512 with pixel_size=1024,1024. Replace gauge09=Cessna208B_Basler!itt, 361,441,68,68 with gauge09=Basler_HD!itt, 361,441,68,68

OK. looks great. I installed the HD replacements. I had to delete a couple of the C208 ones.

Here is the day and night comparisons on my pc. Excellent work. Thanks a million. The new HD gauges actually look a lot better in the panel than the screenshot shows. Must be something to do with the reduced view of the comparison.

Antarctica X is great, was part of the beta team, it's the reason why I was interested in setting up a BT-67 for FSX :D

The other freeware/payware Basler wasn't that good!

@KOXR

I apprechiate the effort to get the gauges in a higher resolution format. Do you intend to do that with all gauges?

i plan on finishing all the small gauges first since they are simple. Now that I have the photoshop templates done it should only be a couple days till they are all done. The large gauges are going to take some time since all the XML values have to be scaled up along with the graphics but I do plan on doing them.

Should anything be changed to better match the real aircraft?

Hello,

Thought I'd download this airplane yesterday but it said I needed to be logged in. So I created an account and logged in. Then it said I need to enable cookies. I don't have cookies blocked (using Chrome). So I thought I'd try IE8, same problem.

Then I tried at my job today and it worked nicely but I thought 40MB was pushing my luck. Everything is monitored. Now I'm at home again and thought I'd give it another try but now I'm getting "file not found" error.

Please help. :(

As you mentioned for the larger gauges, if you want the scales matching exactly the real one, which maybe many versions BTW, than this is a lot of extra work. So for the time I will be very happy to have your small ones upgrade in resolution and in a second phase the large ones, or I exchange those from the Carenado Caravan as they are higher resolution and with some tweaking will fit.

I have already replaced all the large gauges in my panel.cfg with the Carenado Caravan and they fit great. I could not find any suitable replacements for the smaller ones and that's what prompted me to make them. I should have the small set done this weekend. No time frame on the large ones just yet.

Nevermind, folks. They updated the file to v2 and the old one was removed. Got it now.

EDIT: Danke Cheese-Strike.

ver 2.

A couple of things to consider as you upgrade to v2.0. Various changes were made along the way and you may lose many of them with the plain vanilla install. Make sure you do keep a backup of what you have in case you want to go retro on some of the items like the HD gauges or lighting or such or your custom radio panel configuration. Also, if you copy any of your existing texture files over and update the aircraft.cfg file you must change the model from 1.6 to 1.7 for each entry.

Looks good. Thanks to all on the development team and the others who contributed with suggestions and ideas.

This looks like a perfect, modern FSX addon and is as good as anything out there, but it is special. I plan to make it one of my two goto Antarctica planes. Between the wheels and skis with the 5 bladed turbines and super long range it should be just perfect.

Now we need the base pack paints. Not pushing, just waiting.

Made some changes to the main gear:

Now the tires look like the original BT-67 AERO CLASSIC tires

The tail wheel changed, too.

Shooting thumbnails right now

First to come: updated 'Polar 5' and 'Polar 6'
