July 10, 201213 yr Good Day; I just wanted some clarification, as far as I am aware PMDG have stated that they have 2 secret projects in the works. Project #1 has been announced, so is the 744 v2.0 going to be project #2, or is the second secret project going to be an entirely different product? Thanks, Richard
July 10, 201213 yr the second secret project going to be an entirely different product? Secret project 1 is the 744 V2. Secret project 2 is the DC-6. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
July 10, 201213 yr Secret project 1 is the 744 V2. Secret project 2 is the DC-6. The other way around, Kenny. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 11, 201213 yr The other way around, Kenny. Fine. Secret project 1 is the DC-6. Secret project 2 is the 744 V2. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
July 11, 201213 yr Fine. Secret project 1 is the DC-6. Secret project 2 is the 744 V2. Correct. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

July 11, 201213 yr Author Ah okay thanks for the replies. Just hadn't seen any official statement about project 2. Thanks.
July 11, 201213 yr What is still a secret is the next plane after the 747 which Robert mentioned in the video from the Aerosoft conference. If I remember correctly, he said something to the effect that it would be something different from what we would expect from PMDG. Any guesses on this one?
July 11, 201213 yr Yeah this one made me some thoughts. I guess it'll be something "old" (I have to be careful how I define "old" since I don't want to insult Robert LOL) we all know it's not a 737 classic or even a Boeing, since Rob said "this is going to suprise you coming from us". It may be something like a MD10, Tristar or DC9/MD82. What I would really love to see would be the Embraer E190/195 or the next generation CRJ series. However, it is quite hard to get all the needed informaton and documentation from Bombardier. I got my fingers crossed for the Embraer, since Boeing works together wit this company in some areas. With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
July 11, 201213 yr If it was an old plane though, that would go against the "we want to make planes you see at the airport" statement. Really tough one as the two statements could be seen as contradictory. Unless of course it refers to an Airbus.. That would certainly please some in these forums. Something like the A380 would certainly have mass market appeal and would surprise us all! I think an embraer could also fit the definition. It will certainly be interesting to see.
July 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member Marko- The comment about "what you see at the airport" is specifically in reference to our line of flagship airliners.... The DC-6 is a secondary product line that we are creating in order to make better utilization of our resources, without bogging them down into a full blown glass airliner- as I described in Munich. July 12, 201213 yr I must say i enjoy PMDG dropping these hints about there next project. It really keeps things interesting. I have followed this forum for years now. With these serect projects it seems they always throw hints our way. I know it was mentioned that the Dash 8 would be along the lines of the JS4100 for functionalaty but i believe that the dash 8 will be in line with the 777 and 737. There r not many planes left to do that r really popular at the airports we see every day. Ryan has said that an embarer is highly unlike, they r not doing a crj in the near future so unless they have a airbus up there sleeve i think the dash got moved to there flag ship line and there going to keep with the classics on there secondary product line. We will just have to wait for the announcement to come until then we will just have to keep guessing and PMDG will keep laughing William Coade
July 12, 201213 yr So PMDG now have 3 products that they will probably have finished by the end of 2012. They must have something new in mind that comes after that. An Airbus? I hope so, although many people will say I'm wrong. Because PMDG can't make it "realistic" enough because the Airbus' systems are too "complex". I think all of us are taking the word 'realism' to seriously. I'd rather prefer a PMDG Airbus that is as realistic as possible and not 100% realistic because it simply can't be done, than no Airbus at all! Arjen Vandervelde
