I liked the idea of the full range of motion on the Cessna yoke, but there aren't many used ones on the market. Plenty of used Saitek Pros, though (probably from all the people who upgraded to the Cessna).

 

Flight handles the smaller (unrealistic) range of motion well, though, with a variable input as you crank the yoke more to the left or right.

CH Yoke, Pedals & TQ here. I like them a lot. I have used the Saitek set up at a friend's house and they felt good also. I suspect you would be pleased with either.

Question on the Pro Flight yoke. How far does the rear of the housing of the yoke extend from the front of the surface it is clamped to, in other words how much room is needed before it hits the monitor?

a bit less than 26 cm. (It´s hard to measure because the edges are not 90°)

Saitek Pro Flight Combar Rudder Pedals. I use the g940 pedals which are nice, heavy, well built and fit nicely on my feet, but looking to get one of these (saitek combat pedals) along with a Warthog HOTAS to replace my g940 setup. The saitek combat pedals look even nicer and every review I read, everyone loves them.

 

I've never user a yoke so I can't help you there, but looks like others have told you enough already.

That is the setup I now have, and I could not be happier. Also if you are into combat at all, the Warthog works beautifully with DCS-A10C, the sim recognizes and sets up all the appropriate button functions for the Warthog.

I really like it in Flight as well, after I got it I really started to be able to grease the Maule in nicely on landings.

 

I really like the Saitek Combat Pedals as well, but then I came from a much older TM Elite set of pedals, so it was a very nice upgrade for me. Only thing I wish that Saitek did, was put hall sensors in the pedals. They are very smooth and feel very comfortable with the heels being on the floor,

I have the Saitex Pro Flight Yoke and Throttle quad, for some reason I cannot get it to work properly.

I assigned the buttons much the same way i would for FSX but the throttles and Flap levers do not

respond and half the buttons I programmed show up during assignment but then do not work once i start

the program. Any ideas or cures would be very appreciated.

Sounds nice. I'll just have to figure out how to get it all to Thailand without getting raped by import taxes and shipping probably doubling the cost of it all.

Yikes, that would be tough - wish you the best on that, it is really a great setup to have if you can swing it.

Yeah, I much prefer a joystick as that's what is in most of the stuff I usually fly - and I have no problem pretending a Cessna has F16 style controls :P

There's also practical reasons, like space, no need for table mount, a hotas throttle with lots of buttons and I think it's easier to build a stick to a reasonable budget than the yoke. I think it's harder to build nice and smooth action with a shaft built into a plastic container. Then again I never used a yoke much.
