Guys seriously, Spend some more time on the FDE and systems and junk the cabin crap.

I can be a passenger whenever I fly, don't need to be a virtual one as well.

Look at the videos on youtube...the flight dynamics are attrocious, as if the planes weighs about 500 lbs. Pass? I know, right?

that was version 1, this release is ver2.

I lost my money...... External textures look like plastic (no HD textures, no dust....) and the flight dynamics are the one of a PA28.....

too much, too soon....

Good! At the historic Wilco, the CRJ NextGen will stay perfect at update 15.0

We wait.

Sitting and drinking a juice preferably.

  • 1 month later...

I just bought v2.0 this evening.

It's is completely impossible to 'mouse click' the AP controls in this addon......... But;

That doesn't bother me as I was pleased to find that this plane works with FSUIPC Mouse Macros, so you can assign all AP controls to keys, and have your accuracy back!

Eg... I use " [ " and " ] " to control the Heading Bug, and key like H and N for HDG and NAV modes.

The main problem with the Wilco CRJ now, at v2.0 is that the SPEED mode works disastrously!

I was amazed to read that all gauge programming was by Eric Marciano, because he has had "Speed" modes (those that control speed by varying pitch, not throttle) working in many of his planes in the past. So it is surprising to see how badly this plane fails to control SPEED using pitch.

At one point I had SPEED set to 220 in the climb ....... the aircraft commanded up to 8,000 FPM, and airspeed dropped to 130kias! ........ then it starts to 'correct'..... 0.3 FPM until my speed was up to 280kias.....

The SPEED mode just does not work, so you're left using V/S for climb, which is not realistic and then, you may as well be flying the FSX default airliners once you're climbing using VS.

Come on Eric, please sort out the SPEED mode!

May not have anything to do with the gauge programming as much as it does the FDE.

Yes, that's a very true point.

Whose ever fault it is, it just ruins this plane. Even in VS mode, if it gets outside a few 100 FPM of the set 'target' it just goes crazy, ballooning up and down.

I'm always a little put off when a developer spends more time making a beautiful cabin rather than modelling good systems. Surely they could have put better effort into the bit you actually sit in 99% of the time!

I've got a couple of Wilco products and I'm not terribly impressed. I have one of the planes they did in collaboration with Feel-there and it was OK, nothing mind blowing but not terrible...Nowhere near PMDG level..
