September 18, 201213 yr If that were true, PMDG would have done the A320, A330, A340 and A380 but no.... Theres two major aircraft manufacturers...Boeing and Airbus Industries...PMDG has done boeings...others have tried to do Airbus and failed so there's a big demand for them (esp given they're outselling boeings now). Market opportunity? nah couldn't be. i suppose it is better business to keep the main product line all Boeing, given the already existing connection to the company and apparently quite good relations. So now you have a solid base to build on, know-how and commoniality (which is good, when you can use a modular development system), and can churn out a solid number of add-ons in relatively short time. But if PMDG wanted to do Airbus, they would have to pull people from Boeing development, develop the base for cockpit visuals, systems, etc. plus put a FBW system on top of what they need to do for Boeing to work, and all that without pre-existing connection to either Airbus Industrie or Airbus people in the airlines. My uneducated guesstimate is, that PMDG would need to invest a comparable amount of time and money to develop a single Airbus model that it can use to deliver the three Boeing addons (737NG 6-900 basic variants, 777-200LR and 747-400/-8) --Peter Fabian

Although good Airbus planes for Flight Simulator is a must but yeah Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
September 19, 201213 yr I thought Boeing was getting more orders than Airbus at the moment? Although good Airbus planes for Flight Simulator is a must but yeah Depends how you count. The A320NEO got a huge number of orders last year, so obviously didn't get as many this year, as most people who wanted one had already ordered. The 737MAX orders really started rolling this year, so if you look on a year by year basis Boeing is ahead this year. Overall though I think the NEO has more orders than the MAX, though the order of magnitude is the same. If you look at the currently flying narrowbody fleet I think the split is something like 60-40 in Boeing's favour. In the end they're both doing pretty well in the narrowbody market and will hopefully produce many more great planes to grace our skies. Also the A320 that is currently being developed by FSL is supposed to be the start of a whole product series, so good Airbusses for FS might very well be coming (do hope they pick up the pace after the A320 though). September 19, 201213 yr True...but there's a whole market of Airbii (I made that up!) that haven't been developed (yet) to PMDG perfection and a massive demand for it. Yeah its a massive investment (dev time, cashflow, R&D, etc) but I reckon its worth it. You could slap PMDG onto a woodpidgeon and it'll sell I reckon! (and I'd buy it...as long as it has a working FMC). J Thomas YBBN
September 19, 201213 yr although i would love Pmdg A320, this topic is not about that i would also really like a update for the Md-11, in fact one of the reasons i think Pmdg don't sell to much is it's old, and needs to be updated like the ngx
