Hello PMDG,

I was wondering why there hasn't been plan for making PMDG MD-11 V2 cockpit remake..

This is one of the most fantastic aircrafts.. And now almost all passengers airlines have retired MD-11 .. It is still hugely famous for Cargo..!

What all you people think.. Let this beautiful bird neglect like that..

I thought the sales and interest wasn't good in V1?

Yeah i guess that's the main reason? I would prefer to see the MD-11 updated over the 747-400, but i know i'm minority.

At the end of the day it is a business,

 

People want to fly the aircraft they see at their international hubs, with airlines they love, on routes they love.

 

 

The MD11 is just not successful in real life, and hasn't been so in the virtual.

It's a great 'plane once you get to know it.

It is a shame that flight simmers didn't take to the MD. Its a wonderful aircraft, and I still fly it regularly. Even after the release of the NGX. However, as I like to fly real airlines/routes, many of my flights are "fantasy flights" And its likely most will be taken on in the 777 when it releases.

PMDG already stated there are no plans for a V2.

To bad. I already should be happy with a upgrade of the graphics of the VC

Accept the fact about MD-11 fans...It's a fantastic aircaft.. I prefer it over 747 anytime!..We(MD-11 Lovers) all would love to see it's remake ..I am happy to see some of the responses wanting one!

Has already been said but it has been stated by PMDG a few times that sales weren't that great so that is probably why they won't do another version of it.

I believe I read at one point the J41 out sold the MD-11. (Or this may have just been the FS9 version, It was a while ago I read this)

Since PMDG don't seem to interested in following up on SP2 for that product, even after a forum user made a list of nearly 100 bugs, (which admittedly where minor ones I would never have noticed if not pointed out, and even now would likely not notice.) I doubt they would go back to the MD

Before I read this thread, I would have said the MD11 has one of the top 10 VC's on the market. It was (for me) the product that showed what a proper VC should be and was the primary driver in my move from mainly 2D user to mainly VC user. Do you guys really think it is showing its age already?

The problem Is not that its showing its age, In fact I have no issues using this aircraft. The fact is though, It is not up to the visual standards of the later releases. This was deliberate by PMDG at the time to keep good performance. However, I think it would be a great refresh of the product if some HD textures, the resolution seen on the NGX and 777, were made. It would look fantastic. But is in no way a necessity, and it is highly possible that the number of customers who would go for such an upgrade do not number enough to make it a viable business decision.

IMO the MD-11 is the best PMDG product bar none. The only one which flew perfectly and with almost no frame hits!

This has already been discussed several times, and just a few months ago again. PMDG stated they will not revisit the MD-11, sad but true, I too would love to see a reworked version of this beauty. That being said, I still enjoy flying her, even now that the NGX is here, and probably will continue to enjoy flying her after the T7 and the 74v2 and 748 are out. Any time I see one flying or on the ground here at EHAM I still think she's a great bird.

I would spend my money on a little VC update including a HUD and some new textures.

In my opinion the MD-11 is the best aircraft PMDG ever made, no mater what will come...
