September 28, 201213 yr Loki, the Steam Flight community manager, has posed a very interesting news : he proposes the community to submit new aerocahes for the game. The post : https://news.microso...-cache-too.aspx Here is the important part of the information : "In order to create an Aerocache we will need the following information: Name of Aerocache Search hint (to let you use in game bing search) Hint (“On the East coast of X” ect) Real world Latitude (DMS/decimal) Real world Longitude (DMS/decimal) Altitude (meters/feet ok, please call out which you are using) Difficulty; Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard Experience point value Screenshot of place you want the Aerocache icon placed Screen shot on in game map of your location Starting Airport, which airport in flight you want to have the search start at. Once we get that info (emailing us at [email protected] being the best way), I will poke at some stuff on my side and start providing lists of the Aerocaches with a schedule of when they would be running. " I hope that you have good ideas to make the new caches more fun than the one popping in front of our nose  !! One other thing that I did not saw here is that you can freely participate to the last Flight beta directly from your Steam client...
September 28, 201213 yr Is Microsoft Flight really about flying around looking for "Aerocache's"? Still good to see they're still active.
September 28, 201213 yr Author Is Microsoft Flight really about flying around looking for "Aerocache's"? Still good to see they're still active. Finding aerocaches is a fun part of the game, that is about flying. There are many ways of doing that. Aerocaches are part of the Flight experience. Loki and Soliceste are quite active to keep Flight alive yes Unfinished but still standing !
September 28, 201213 yr I think that's a great idea. I've always found the aerocaches to be one of the most enjoyable facets of the sim. Due to time constraints, I'm not sure I can come up with much but I'll surely try. It's very nice that Loki and Sol are trying to keep this interesting for those of us that still use Flight. September 29, 201213 yr For a product that has been dis- continued there sure is a lot going on. Makes you say hmmmmmm. I still think MS has plans for Flight.

September 29, 201213 yr Is Microsoft Flight really about flying around looking for "Aerocache's"? Still good to see they're still active. I must admit that slightly to my surprise, it turned out to be a popular part of flight. I even saw something offering aerocaches for Fsx, but the product seems to have been eaten by a grue. It also takes the load off of Loki trying to come up with good ones all on his lonesome. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. September 29, 201213 yr For a product that has been dis- continued there sure is a lot going on. Makes you say hmmmmmm. I still think MS has plans for Flight. Stop reading between the lines. Microsoft's only plan is to keep selling the product while it can be sold. 'Aerocache of the day' is simply part of the game product and although MS could keep re-cycling the (i guess) couple hundred cache points, some motivated staff are trying to keep the daily cache fresh for players. Without the communities help, MS would likely not budget for the required time. I very much enjoy the daily cache and would like it to keep going if possible. Sorry to burst any hope bubbles but this is the business reality. The best we can hope for is little things like this, anything more would require MS Flight champions, possibly at the director level.
September 29, 201213 yr Wouldn't it be funny if so many from the FS community submitted Aerocache ideas that MS actually took notice......that the one group of FS users they (J Howard) alienated with Flight were the main ones still supporting it, LOL. Best, Michael KDFW
September 29, 201213 yr Stop reading between the lines. Microsoft's only plan is to keep selling the product while it can be sold. Yes I know, it's all about the cache er Cash. But, never say never.
September 29, 201213 yr I am glad that Loki and Soliceste have found ways to make Flight a little better. I like the Aerocache idea. It's a fun way to create destinations to explore. I'm happy that Loki and company have found a way to keep this going. A couple of suggestions for the new caches: Don't make the Easy ones so easy that you don't even have to get in a plane to collect them. And why not make them all permanent until you collect them? I will be sending in some suggested locations this weekend. Thanks again for your efforts in keeping Flight active.
September 30, 201213 yr I think that's a great idea. I've always found the aerocaches to be one of the most enjoyable facets of the sim. Concur. AOTD is the one thing that makes me fire up Flight once a day, if only to insure the AOTD isn't one I lack. Once you've accumulated your own, subjective "enough" of flight hours, landings, XP's, awards, and challenges, the AOTD's give you an excuse to cruise around and enjoy the scenery.
October 3, 201213 yr I am supporting this. I have submitted a couple so far, but I am curious to know if our Flight community is pitching in?
October 5, 201213 yr And why not make them all permanent until you collect them? +1 Sorry about my poor english language
October 9, 201213 yr Don't make the Easy ones so easy that you don't even have to get in a plane to collect them. And why not make them all permanent until you collect them? Well, We can't really trigger it based off of what one person collects. So, there is not really a way to have them be permenent, then have them be Aerocaches of the Day, barring us changing them over server side.
