October 21, 201213 yr Ladies and gents. It might have been for FS2000, maybe even before but I had a third party freebie of the sound of braking while taxing that I used on a third party 737-400. It didn't sound the greatest, something like a Halloween boogie man but I knew what it was and I'm not too hard to please. Does anyone remember this and think it still might be available? I have looked at alot of forums but no luck. Also wasn't there talk recently somewhere about running over taxi lights and getting that thump, thump sound? Was that a freebie item and possibly for FS9? Thanks to all. Mike
October 21, 201213 yr Hi Mike, I don't know if this is helpful for you: Calclassic's DC-6 comes with a brake sound. I don't know if you are allowed to use it for another plane (I even don't know if this sound fits to a B737); perhaps you may ask Tom Gibson via his forum who has the rights on this sound and if or under which conditions it may used . Regards Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
October 21, 201213 yr Also wasn't there talk recently somewhere about running over taxi lights and getting that thump, thump sound? Was that a freebie item and possibly for FS9? AES has that feature inbuilt. Also several months ago FSPS released a payware product ... Runway Bumping Effect.
October 21, 201213 yr Author Thank you Harald for the braking issue. I will check with Tom Gibson on that. And thank you YBNA on the bumping issue. I have AES but nit installed. Mike
October 22, 201213 yr Hi Mike, If or when you get a response from Tom would you be kind enough to share that with us. I for one would be very interested if it is allowed and doable. Thanks in advance. Regards, Mel
October 22, 201213 yr Hi, My squeaky brakes sounds are from Diego Barreto, and are present in several panels by now. The answer is that they can be added to any panel: 1. Make sure you have a "squeaking brakes" folder in your main Sound folder (should be there from installing my propliner panels). 2. Make sure you have a "squeaking brakes" folder in your main Gauges folder (should be there from installing my propliner panels). 3. Make sure you have a squeaking brakes_Sound.gau file in your main Gauges folder (should be there from installing my propliner panels). 4. In the plane's panel.cfg file (in a VCockpit section) you should add the following two lines: gauge86=squeaking brakes!BrakeSound, 0,0,20,20 gauge87=squeaking brakes_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,20,18,./sound/squeaking brakes/Sound.ini You will need to change the gaugenn= numbers; they should be consecutive within the listing (1,2,3,4,, etc.). Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
November 2, 201213 yr Those squeaky brakes that Tom has supplied are very good on the classic aircraft. I would however be somewhat disconcerted if I was a passenger in a modern 737 airliner and it squeaked and whistled in that manner. ^_^ PS another brake sound is the one that comes with Rob Barendregt push back gauge (project fokker has it built in)) this produces a fine farty brake sound. November 3, 201213 yr Author Tom, I just installed your " squeaking brakes while taxing" on a Project Opensky 737-8Q8, Air Jamaica livery. As I said in another post, I'm not to picky and I think these sound pretty good. Hey, I had no brake sound before this. Thanks, Mike
November 3, 201213 yr When someone figures out how to get this to work on other planes I'm very interested. Just install the push-back gauge in the aircraft of your choice. Also I suspect there is probably an easier way to do this if you don'rt actually want the full functioning gauge. I expect somebody else will be able to tell you how. Maybe Rob himself as he is seen on these forums. No offence Rob but I go the opposite way from the posters here and remove farty brakes sound. ^_^ Andy
November 3, 201213 yr When someone figures out how to get this to work on other planes I'm very interested. The gauge is a very simple xml gauge that will work on any aircraft......one could spice it up so overuse could result in a rise in temperature and if really cavalier....a failure. :Nerd: My FS Videos
