Word Not Allowed, I am myself very fussy what runs along side FSX, but Opus is like the Avliasoft Data Provider, run it and forget it. Weather info is available within fsx via addon menu. You do not need to Alt+Tab. I never have.

What about the whole setup screen for views, setting something up if you want to edit it? Then you do have to exit...

Exactly. I start Opus before starting FS. Opus even starts minimized already. So, it's literally one extra click before launching FS. No need to go back to Opus at all during the flight. I fly in full screen mode too and never all-tab to anything once I start a flight.

I do understand if you don't want anything else on the FSX pc though. That makes sense and there's nothing getting around that, at the moment.

That's right, I forgot...you want to do the views too. There I can't voice an opinion on as I haven't messed with that yet. I use it solely for the weather.

I was skeptical too Kostas, I only use mine for weather and wow, run and forget no FPS hit at all as far as I can see full screen fsx as2012 textures and its never looked so good, I flew From PAKT TO PAWG last night and it looked breathtaking with this setup. just sayin. :)

The other weather engines out there (I have a few) just didn't quite do it for me. I guess you could say I was searching for the holy grail. So I too went and got Opus on a leap of faith.

Well, as far as I am concerned, I found the grail. Or rather it found me, whatever.... ^_^

FSX is not the same without Opus. My 2 cents.

What is this Aivlasoft Data Provider thing I keep reading about?

For me, by far the best moving map, airport map, SID/STAR overview program. Showing you basically all your departures and arrivals on one map, very quick reference, and the best, for stressful times, one click frequency changer.

That is exactly it for me too. The other weather engines are good. But, there was always that something that just didn't make it completely right. With Opus, I don't have any of those feelings. It's just right - the way the weather is supposed to be. I've said it before, it's the way I've always wanted the weather to be in FS.

Just like you need to do with Ezydoc, you only need to be in windowed mode to set up cameras. As you know, I use your tweaks, and would not sacrifice that for any addon, no matter how good it is, but with Opus, it is not a concern whatsoever.

In fact, with Ezydoc removed, performance has increased even more, one less dll loading in fsx.

Once you see the weather depiction, you will be blown away.

Last night, I was flying over the Denmark Strait, way in the distance, was an approaching storm, 15 mins later, it was still there and I had to fly around it. Did not disappear like it normally does with the other weather programs.

Last night, I did 3 flights. Each with a reboot in between them like I normally do. I went from ENBR to ENZV to ENGM to ESSA. When I started in ENBR, there was a storm front just east of me that stretched onward to the east and northeast. When I was on approach into ENZV from ENBR(just like 80 miles to the south or so), I could still see that storm front off in the distance to the northeast of me. When I took off on the next leg, ENZV-ENGM(after a reboot remember), there was that same front, now a little further to the east, off in the distance. Again, on approach into ENGM, I could see the storm front out there. Then, on the final leg, ENGM-ESSA(again, after a reboot), I saw that front off to the north of ENGM. It didn't appear then disappear or anything like that. Across 3 legs, the weather was there - to fly into, around, or just notice off in the distance in this case. Again, just like the weather should be if I were doing those legs in the RW.

The only issue I ever had with AS was the disappearing weather or clouds. I was happily cruising and all of the sudden, all the clouds in the sky would go away, and then appear on different place in the next minute or so.

OK, okaaaaaaaaaay........ I'll check it out, lol!

Hehe, K., finally you gave in to the massive pressure :)
