October 26, 201213 yr Hmmm!! that didnt take long :LMAO: . That was one heck of a sales job, that I enjoyed. Under cover sales reps for Opus? Well maybe not. Just didnt think Word Not Allowed would give in so quick. Jamie Moses

October 26, 201213 yr Not easy to sell me stuff, being a sales manager, but in FSX... you can sell me almost anything with the right people and function ^_^
October 26, 201213 yr Once you try it it is a whole new world. I am getting into the cameras now and with the new beta trackir is perfect. It is amazing to see such good weather depiction and not see any disappear, or flashes, or green bars. Just good data. Also the very very small and simple interface is very nice and a huge difference than anything else. William Sequeira
October 26, 201213 yr Not easy to sell me stuff, being a sales manager, but in FSX... you can sell me almost anything with the right people and function I know the feeling. I'll probably have to check out that EFB program now. Kinda "return the favor". Lol Daniel Nilsson
October 26, 201213 yr I'm not trying to 'sell' OPUS, but when the program is that good you just have to recommend it after all my frustrations with other weather programs. I've heard about the AiviaSoft -- it looks good, but also expensive! Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 26, 201213 yr it looks good, but also expensive! If I had time now, I'd start the same selling agenda as you did with Opus ^_^ It's completely worth it's money. It's my Nr.1 addon for flying. On another note: I just installed the demo of Opus to see this weather you rave about. Outside RW: raining, night (don't see skies), inside sim: raining. Fine. 10 min later, rain stopped... a little later, in sim stopped? Kinda hard to believe, or better said... a coincidence? Anyway, gone to bed. Tomorrow work. Will try it out further over the weekend!

They might have changed the restriction, but I would ask the authors of OPUS to clarify that. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
October 26, 201213 yr I'm getting EFB tomorrow, looks awsome. I'm going to run it on a HP EliteBook with touchscreen so it will be just like a real life EFB
October 26, 201213 yr Is there a demo version of the Aviasoftware? Yes. You can install FULL version of the program, just as you would have when you own it, and without any limit use it for free for 30 days. More than enough to see if you like it or not. I used it for 30 days and couldn't imagine not buying it afterwards! I'm getting EFB tomorrow, looks awsome. I'm going to run it on a HP EliteBook with touchscreen so it will be just like a real life EFB Yes. I am running EFB on the iPad sometimes, a great functionality. I would love to run it on a 15inch touchscreen, but hey... gotta make some limits, lol.

October 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member Two things I do not understand regarding the demo. 1. I naturally want to try the real world weather but on the webpage it says "This release includes the Live Weather Engine (live weather is not available in Demo mode). So what am I seeing if is not real world weather? Confusing. 2. From reading this thread Opus is not ready for a network install? But at the site it is saying you can. I probably try to see if I can install the demo in a client/server situation for P3D. Clutch ***NEVERMIND*** about the above. As I continue to read I am getting my questions answered. Plus I am reading the 'Getting Started' Demo manual. Sounds interesting. Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
October 27, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Clutch Just to clarify, the Live Weather engine in demo mode is limited to weather updates on the ground and only runs for 10 minutes. We have always had the networking options for Live Weather, Live View (client displays) and Live Camera with the software running on the server, we will be providing an additional option for running the Live Weather engine on a client but this is not for performance issues rather for interfacing to flight planners etc. DHM is available on the server, but we haven't yet implemented DHM on the client PCs. Regards Cheryl

The demo only lasts 10 minutes then it disables itself The LWE is restricted to 128km (80 miles) in all directions and weather updating only whilst your aircraft is on the ground. Demonstration mode will run for 10 minutes with a minimum 2 minute interval required between runs.
