Well, after reading this thread I went out this morning and bought OPUSFsx, it works well from what I've seen so far, but havn't experienced any low vis airports yet. For the price it's not all that bad though it is missing some stuff from AS that I'd like it to have, namely the import flight plan and get back your head/tailwind component for the flight and the temperature at your flight level. Apart from that though seems like a nice piece of kit.

Default cloud textures are ugly and unrealistic.

I'm sure that's true once you've gotten used to REX clouds. The first time I saw a screen shot from REX, my first reaction was "Are the clouds supposed to be that ugly?" I suspect that some REX users find real world clouds to be ugly and unrealistic, as I've never seen real clouds that look like REX.

That being said, a lot of people prefer REX clouds and really like them, so there has to be something going for them. It kind of illustrates that it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it looks like we expect it to look like. Some people expect higher contrast clouds, and default clouds are not high contrast. I've seen high contrast clouds in real life, but very seldom. Around here, north of Dallas, we get soft edge clouds most of the time.
