October 26, 201213 yr Which one do you recommend in order of best Weather Engine? I feel like Active Sky 2012 does not generate enough cloud layers.....

October 26, 201213 yr Commercial Member I set the cloud layers to 3 or 4 once, drop in perfomance was noticable, so I keep it at 1, sometimes 2. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
October 26, 201213 yr Isn't it just great with stiff competition in an open marketplace Choice, quality, development and diversity at a cheap price, gotta love it
October 26, 201213 yr The people voting for AS don't have OPUS - pretty obvious. Yup, that seems to be a fair assumption. Well, as long as they're happy. I wasn't. ^_^ Daniel Nilsson
October 27, 201213 yr Yup, that seems to be a fair assumption. Well, as long as they're happy. I wasn't. ^_^ Or maybe we tried it, found it buggy with a confusing and klunky interface that didn't make any sense, and that it didn't play well with other addons and software, trying to do too many things at once, and doesn't really offer much over AS or REX from what we *could* get working.

I haven't purchased Opus yet. What addons/software does it conflict with? AJ Pongress
October 27, 201213 yr I haven't purchased Opus yet. What addons/software does it conflict with? Does not conflict with anything. He has probably tried the demo, and ran opus with ezydok and another weather prog running at the same time. October 27, 201213 yr Got OPUS working fine here. Doesn't conflict with anything I've got and also I found it very simple to use. There is quite a bit that I miss from Active Sky as regards to winds aloft reports and also descent forecasts. Gavin Price
