Well when you try it out let us know if all that amazing detail and the new 3d grass hits FPS performance any. It looks gorgeous in the screenshots.

It's gonna be an expensive weekend coming up, especially with Felts field due for release. Absolutely stunning for those who have not seen the screenshots.

I do get an fps drop while on the ground. I do not get that on the Stewart airport made by the same guy. However on most ORBX airport (Fall City, Swanson, Skagit) I do notice some FPS hit while on the ground. On my system FPS is on par with Swanson and Fall City, and better than Skagit.

 

From the air I cant notice any drop in performance. And it does look like the screenshots, smashing.

Thanks Bunkers. I have Stewart and Fall City and Skagit but not Swanson. Fall City and Harvey were probably the two worst performing airports for me in NA (I don't have Anacortes), but Skagit is fine for me. But I upgraded the computer not long ago and just tried Fall City and Skagit again and they are fine for me on the ground (locked at 30), so it sounds as if I'll be good. I'll probably get it today. Sure looks nice.

Yeah it's funny how performance differ from system to system. FSX performance is a complicated matter.

Ok so I went out and bought it..

 

Have ORBX lost the plot.. As always the airport is beautifully rendered, BUT this is obviously a ruched out job. Something I am NOT used to from this specific developer.

 

FIRTS of all.

YES I AM UP TO DATE WITH PFJ and have latest installed.

YES I HAVE LATEST library set installed

 

1) This airport is a framerate HOG... if you guys think harvey was bad on your set-up, dont get this one unless you have I7 overclocked machine with gtx680..

 

2) Ok my gripes.

 

the rivers run up the mountains

 

 

 

 

Roads dont even line up properly anymore..

 

Bridges dont even line up.. or is this the way bridges are being build on the side of the road.. Maybe bridge is work in progress

 

Even the linking up of the river between bella coola area and normal PNW

 

 

Never seen this sloppy development from this developer. Either this is rushed out job because cashflow need a BOOST and it's time for bonusses to be paid or whatever, but I have never seen such drop in standards..!! Absolute pathetic (the area outside the immediate airport/runway.

The sloping water I've seen before with ORBX, the bridge I didnt notice. I agree that looks strange. Being an FPS hog I guess will vary alot between users. It's acceptable on my end, but definitely noticable.

There's a service pack for PFJ released that I suspect will fix most of those issues. I know the water issues are supposed to be fixed by it.

thanks I see they just have added a SP3. busy downloading. Up to 2 hours ago it was not yet on their site, even though bella coola was released this morning already

 

well if you fly from 070 over the airport it is as bad and sections even worse then harvey. if you fly heading 250 over the airport it seem to be a bit better.

 

but let me load the SP3 and then we can see better results maybe. I am sure the 3d grass have huge impact so I will play around and activate and de-activate and see what fps is, but currently I will not fly a really complex aircraft ( read frame rate hog) into bella-coola

I can't believe the frequency these guys have been whipping out the sceneries at. Insane.
