December 22, 201213 yr Super - that works! In your panel, all references to the original GPS units are removed, whereas in the provided RXP config, they show up in the 2d windows. Thanks a bunch! Now, there still is the problem of the black post that is visible in the right hand knob of the 430, especially when turning on the light with shift-L. Do you have that as well, or is it not present in your panel? Bert
December 22, 201213 yr Hmm. Bert, I don't have that problem on mine. The RXP 430 and 530 knobs both display properly in every view. Not sure what's going on there. The original discussion that Vaughan refers to was here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/378329-any-news-on-the-beechcraft-b55-sp/page__st__25 This panel was originally based on the first SP, but it still works fine for me on the current version. At least, I THINK I'm running the most recent. :-) Scott
December 22, 201213 yr Bert, Mine look "slightly melted/deformed" but no black post. Bert, "whereas in the provided RXP config, they show up in the 2d windows." In my VC .. if I (edited) L-clk the 530 or 430 screen I get a 2D popups ... I will go check. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 22, 201213 yr Ok, L-clk to get popUps and FSX View menu, GPS for the MilViz stack view. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
December 22, 201213 yr Bert, Mine look "slightly melted/deformed" but no black post. In your screenshot I can see the black post... the top of the knob has lost it's lettering.. Bert
December 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member it's probably never going to go away. Sorry about that... if/when we do another SP... we will fix it. December 22, 201213 yr Bert, You are correct. I had found 2 screenshots to post day/night. I had looked but only "looked" at the 530 .. my error. Here is the other one plus one other close up. For some unknown reason the far right side of my screenshots (1400 wide) are being cropped of when I post them here. So I had to try a few to get it somewhat right here. December 22, 201213 yr Moderator Gentlemen, there is code in each of the supplied avionics that causes the switch between the 3d knobs used by our units, and the 3d knobs that're specifically placed for the RXP units, and also switches from the [VCockpit01] and [...02] sections for our units, and the [...03] and [...04] sections for the RXP units. Because of the way that FS "drapes" the 2d gauges across the 3d knobs, they are never going to be perfect. But, it is the only way to make the knobs work since there are no 'hooks' in the RXP gauges to trigger the knobs externally. Fr. December 22, 201213 yr The black post that Bert mentioned originally... only shows thru at nighttime. And poses no operational problem. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

Hey Bill, I'm still not sure that I am flying the panel the way you intended, since the only config that works for me has all references to the original gauges replaced by the RXP units, as in the config listed above. Either way, this all looks pretty good, and as long as I leave the yoke in place, I cannot see the right most part of the 430, so it is no problem. Many thanks for your responses, and all the best of the Holidays, to all on this forum! Ho Ho Ho! Bert

No, you are okay now. Note that all reference to the supplied GNS430 and 530 of ours have been removed (not just commented out) from the [VCockpit01] and [VCockpit02] sections! It was because they weren't commented out in the supplied RXP_panel.cfg file that the 3d knobs and appropriate VC panels weren't being swapped out like they are supposed to. Fr. December 22, 201213 yr OK - thanks for that clarification! Just a housekeeping issue... might be a good idea to change the RXP_panel.cfg in the download, which I suspect also needs to have the references removed in the 2d windows, so future users do not have the same problems.. Bert
December 23, 201213 yr It was because they weren't commented out in the supplied RXP_panel.cfg file that the 3d knobs and appropriate VC panels weren't being swapped out like they are supposed to. Good to know. I tried the RXP file when the plane first released, and again after the SP and it simply didn't work, but I have to admit I never really looked at it to figure out why. Instead I worked from the original panel.cfg and other's suggestions to work towards a solution. The black post that Bert mentioned originally... only shows thru at nighttime. Yep, I see the same thing now that I look. I don't do much pure night flying in any aircraft other than day to night or early morning to day, but since about my only big criticism of this plane is how the panel looks during the transition from daylight to dusk, or dusk to daylight I don't do any night flying in the B55. Probably why I never noticed this before. In daylight this doesn't seem to be an issue. Scott
