My new cockpit build in pics...

Of course I do, Howard! My former office is now 98% flight sim and 2% 'office' I'm trying to figure out how to mount a Precision Flight Controls full-height Boeing Yoke in lieu of my actual desk... The forward-backward throw is what's stopping me, it's 40" tall, too high to go beneath the desk, and it would push me too far back to reach the other control surfaces!

Which bits? The actual sim cost me about £150 ($240). it's an old desk that was hacked around, then covered in a leatherette material. The sides are bolted together after being painted in a Boeing grey. Then just MDF wood hacked to shape... simples! BTW, those two 4x3 side monitors were the best bargain I have ever had... £30 for the pair off Ebay, and they are brilliant monitors too!

I will post some photos pretty soon, Howard. As soon as I fix the damage that occurred after I threw rocks at my flight deck upon seeing YOUR setup!

Wow nice!

The leather really caught my eye..

I spent probably $4,500 on my setup and it doesn't come close as yours.

Very nice mate but I still think you should have gone for a monitor below your 30" for the NGX or any other really. It's so good to have one there.

Well me 'ol fruit, after seeing what you had done, I really did consider it, 'cos I do have a spare 21" hanging around. However, it would have impacted big time on me being unable to fit in the Vrinsight MCP and switch panel... I suppose space was a big considration too, the rig has already taken about 50% of my office

G'day Howard, long time no talk. Thanks for showing us your amazing rig. If it is not too much problem please may I have your parts list. At the moment I have a 32" 3D HDTV, a second 19" VDU for the add-ons, Saitek Yoke, Saitek Switch Panel, Saitek AP, keyboard and mouse. "Cockpit" chair.

Currently all stacked on an "L" shaped desk but really need to have a "Home Cockpit" type arrangement.

Cheers and thanks, Mac

Hi Mac, nice to hear from you. When you say parts list, are you asking for my FSX hardware..?

Sorry Howard, that was badly worded. What I need please is your hardware parts list that you have incorporated into your Home Cockpit. I fly GA mostly and would like some guidance on what I need to build a Home Cockpit, other than the computer please?

Cheers, Mac
