December 29, 201213 yr I was hoping this thread was going to sink a little but it keeps floating back up. LOl yea it does he just keeps on using bigger bait and he keeps reeling them in I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
December 29, 201213 yr See, here's the thing with the FSX, you can make it either very realistic and use a top notch add on plane such as PMDG or go "game style" and use the default 737. In this example: 1, Go to FMC : to FS action and disconnect Ground Cables. 2. To Upper Panel. Both IRS switches to Off and then NAV 3. To Lower Panel. 3a. (Panel Left Lower) All 6 pumps on. 3b (Panel Centre Left). APU to On. Watch EGT steady at 300. APU Generators (both) to ON 4. Air Con: (Panel Right). Upper diagram: LP to Off, Iso to Auto, RP to Off Lower Diagram : On, Auto, On. Start engine 1 and 2. I wonder why bother. Just go with the default 737, press "Ctrl+E" and off you go... I have just completed a instrument flight with the 737NGX and I have come to the conclusion that it is a joke. PMDG are really scraping the bottom of the simulation barrel here. I'm not really sure what are you trying to state over here.... The NGX's been out for more than a year and already got all possible sim world awards. Not to mention it's been reviewed by RW line 737NG pilots with the highest scores in the industry... Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
December 29, 201213 yr Anyone calling the NGX a "joke" is either trolling or has a really screwed up sense of perception. In this case I think it's both. Either way, I'm done responding to him. Better things to talk about. Sent from my iPhone...typing errors imminent AJ Pongress

January 4, 201313 yr Mr. Kent, A simulator is not a game. It's a simulator. And yes I like to understand what every button stands for. I must be crazy in your eyes, but the tutorials and manuals are very good even for a Dutchman. I hope PMDG will continue making complex planes without a quick start. I like a challenge !!! Happy new year all. (I hope the Professional Flight Planner X comes soon)
December 30, 201312 yr Hello Guys Anyone with advice whether I should buy or download PMDG 737 NGX 800/900..? -Hard copy DVD £49.95 -Download link £42.44 Thanks Regards Lloyd i7 3770k @4.4ghz, GTX 980ti 6Gb, 16GbRam DDR3,LG 29" Class 21:9 UltraWide IPS Monitor
December 31, 201312 yr Hi Lloyd. A peculiar choice of topic to bolt your question to... Anyway. My personal advice is to buy the download version and burn it to a DVD yourself. You will essentially end up with same (especially so if you take a couple of extra steps such as printing a DVD booklet yourself), but, in my opinion a couple of bonuses. - A couple pounds off. Not much, but might just be enough for a pint. - Guaranteed latest version at the time of download. No need to research what do you actually have bought, and if you need to download any extra service packs. - The possibility to buy a re-download option, in case your burned DVD goes missing or scratched etc. - A single file that is simple enough to store on a couple of places (this might be the case with hardcopy DVD as well, not sure) - I store my purchases on spare space on Google Drive (where I pay for 50GB of online storage for other reasons) You may loose out on some small booklet that your distributor decides to put in, but the original manuals are included in PDF format in either case. --Peter Fabian

Hi Peter Thanks for your response and advice I really appreciate.I think will go for the download like you said,I had never thought I could actually make a hard copy from the download that never crossed my mind, two minds better than 1. My apologies for posting this topic in the wrong forum I was just searching PMDG NGX related criteria, hopefully won't repeat same mistake again in the future. Cheers!!! December 31, 201312 yr Ditto on the manuals and tutorials. Though if you have spent any time in any modern jet sim, you will pick up the NGX very quickly. I love it - it is my favorite plane to tool around in right now. The -600/-700 expansion is a treat, too. -- Chris Parrott I also have the 600/700 expansion and it has some issues. I wonder if you are seeing the same. First, whenever I exit FS the sim crashes and I get a module fault roblem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.61472.0 Application Timestamp: 475e17d3 Fault Module Name: PMDG_737NGX_2.dll This happens every time but does not appear to disrupt the next flight and FS X loads ok. Secondly, the thing makes me put in the activation code for each and every flight. This is only the 600/700 expansion, not the 800/900 package. Are you seeing this?
