January 27, 201313 yr I do not have experience with the B737, so does the B747 possess this feature? No. As I stated, you would have to enter a takeoff runway in your flight plan in the Flight Management Computer (FMC). The default B737 and B747 do not have an FMC. It is not dangerous even with close parallel runways as you have ground controllers that monitor your taxi to the runway (in real life) and, within FSX and an aircraft like from iFly or PMDG, you have the FMC incorporated with the products. It shows the exact position of your aircraft in relation to the takeoff runway. Just steer your aircraft in that direction. Fortunately, within FSX, if you miss a turn or go on the wrong taxiway, the ground controller will not get upset with you. He/she in departure control will get upset though if you takeoff from the wrong runway or without clearance. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! When I enter a departure runway in the FMC, I do see the runway indication/symbol appear on the ND, and often use it as a reference during taxi, but have not observed anything similar to what you are describing on the PFD. Basically, I am wondering whether you meant ND or whether there is in fact a PFD feature that I have overlooked since I started using the aircraft.
January 28, 201313 yr Basically, I am wondering whether you meant ND or whether there is in fact a PFD feature that I have overlooked since I started using the aircraft. Yes, that probably is what I meant. I apologize. Not a real world pilot (yet). Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 28, 201313 yr Yes, that probably is what I meant. I apologize. Not a real world pilot (yet). Nor am I, though I hope to be one when I am older! I apologize if I sounded condescending or rude—I was not sure but did not want to make incorrect assumptions or sound too confident, as I am always learning new things about the B747!
January 28, 201313 yr With the trim wheel which is located on both sides of the throttles. I don't want to sound angry or anything, but some of your questions would not be raised if you just followed the first tutorial flight. At least for the MD-11 they explained everything very well, with pictures illustrating where things are located, so that makes life a lot easier. Florian
January 28, 201313 yr How to set STAB TRIM? I recommend binding hardware buttons to elevator trim (both down and up) in the FSX Controls panel. You could also use a hardware trim wheel, though they occasionally interfere with automated flight for some people.
January 28, 201313 yr I love the 737, its the only heavy I fly now. every other plane from various companies dont even come close to the level of detail and sophistication of PMDG. For flight planning I recommended EFB. It's a lot easier to use then FS Commander plus has a ton of extra features like tracking, winds, logging, SID/STAR maps.

Was it hard at first when you tried the 737 pmdg for the first time?
February 1, 201313 yr The PMDG 737 NGX is one of the most complex flight sim add-ons available. You will be able to master it in time, but only by reading the manuals and tutorials - not by asking every single question starting with how to set trim, on this thread. People have told you twice to read and follow the excellent tutorials - that's the way to learn this aircraft.
February 1, 201313 yr I learn everything I know about the 737 through these video tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/user/frooglesim/videos?flow=grid&view=0 http://www.youtube.com/user/FSXpilot767/videos?view=0
February 2, 201313 yr Author I am going to learn how to use it. I was seeing how someone els found it when there first use it.
February 2, 201313 yr Its not too hard, especially since there are 2 tutorials for the aircraft which you must do to learn the aircraft, along with reading all the manuals. It will take time and dedication to do it right. -Iain Watson-
