Believe you mean the Flight Management Computer (FMC) Mark? The tutorial that comes with the aircraft is very good and provides a good understanding on the operation. You can also Google something like PMDG FMC and you'll probably get several YouTube videos on how to program this beast. It's rather simple once you learn it and it increases your enjoyment of the product and FSX.

Best regards,

Jim

Would like a printed copy tho

Although the tutorials and manuals (all 5000 pages of them) do a good job of showing how to program the FMC, you will need a flight planner to fly to other places than the tutorials, unless you already have a good knowledge of the SIDs, STARs and transitions at the airports you are going to fly. I recommend FS Commander, which has a free full-featured demo that only does not allow saving flight plans. The paid version allows saving flight plans in a variety of formats including PMDG format that can be imported into the FMC. If you don't want to pay, you can jot down the waypoints of your flight plan made with the free version and enter the waypoints into the FMC then add the altitude and speed constraints if you wish as in the tutorial.

Although the FMC does allow you to choose the SIDS and STARS and transitions directly from the FMC, my experience is that this is a very frustrating experience and usually ends with corkscreew approaches. Another free flight planner is Plan G.

Build a dirt cheap 2nd PC from used parts, ebay parts etc and sit it next to your pc for flying, great for tutuorials, charts, etc.

Granted, the message is a bit off topic, but he wsa just trying to suggest something. I personally think this is a very good idea, I plan to keep my laptop for doing just what the man suggested, when I finally upgrade to a proper PC.

Good! That means that you can keep your old PC next to you (If it still works fine) and load the manuals and charts on there. The other day, I added a second monitor to my PC, and it's really great, since I can now look at flight manuals while flying. I'm going through the J41 tutorial using my second monitor, and I'm finally learning how to fly it properly. So there are two ways to easily learn how to fly your aircraft.

Thanks,

Kevin L

No you said you needed a printed copy of the manual. Since it´s about 2000 pages long, I suggested a second PC. Just a suggestion. I hope you enjoy the NGX.
