I now got a new printer. I am not going to print all the manuals. Will only print bits like cold and dark cockpit.

Does the 737 have the on screen display telling you that you on the right runway?

What do you mean?

There's no display that will say "This is the right runway".

Thanks,

Kevin L

Only your eyes looking outside can tell you if your on the right runway. The runway numbers are painted on the ground and on some of the taxi way signs.

That flight was on a 747.

I know but I was thinking if the 737 had it as well.

If you loaded the departure runway in the FMC, it will show up on the ND. You could also get FS2Crew's RAAS Professional, which alerts you which runway you're on and which runway you're approaching.

Thank you

That instrument would be checking that the localiser is centered once you've lined up on the runway. In the 737NG to do this tune the ILS frequency for the runway, the on lining up, check the magenta dot is centered on the localiser display.

Yes Mark. It's in the Primary Flight Display (PFD) but only if you enter the takeoff runway in the Flight Management Computer (FMC). I use it all the time to get to the proper runway.

Best regards,

Jim

Mark, why not make it simple and just print out airport charts and follow taxiway signs like real pilots do. It really not that hard and if you look and read the signs, its not that much of a mystery to know if your on the right runway. Thats why they paint numbers on them, so you dont need to guess.

I do not have experience with the B737, so does the B747 possess this feature? I do know of the runway indication/symbol on the ND. However, I would imagine that using the ND to approximate the runway one is on could be dangerous at airports with close parallel runways such as London Gatwick (EGKK).
