Coolsky DC-9 SP1 on Final

Featured Replies

I'm hoping now that there will be time for Terrence to finish up the paint kit, He's been busy with the old ATR for X-Plane aswell after that release.

To add some information to Sara's. At the moment we are working on improving our website infrastructure to facilitate the paintkit on our site, up to this point technical issues have prevented us from releasing. With a couple of releases every year we, by now, know that releasing with essential components of the site not performing well is not a wise idea. Solution should be up soon!

No Fear,

In my initial response, I was responding to the post just before mine :)

I haven't tried the new version with the service pack, will have to give that a go, as it's bed time here lol.

The fixes will always come from Espen's mouth first :) as really this is his baby, I know he loves the MD's.

It was fun, if not a long project to work on (around a year and a bit for me).

Hopefully the flashing bug is sorted fully now, We had that problem in the early beta's then it went away, It was only in the initial release when it got out there that the bug resurfaced, got to love PC's and their numerous variations and FSX tweaks lol.

Even I don't have a paintkit for the exterior yet, I'd love to do a few freebies for it, been a while since I did outsides rather than insides, there's some lovely colourfull ones that caught my eye a while back.

Anyway's, back to interiors tomorow on the next project,

safe flying, and hope all your wishes come true for this year (including the paint kit :))

Hi Sara,

As an owner of UHDT liveries and flight deck texture packs I`d like to know if there are any changes regarding the model/UHDT textures after SP1?

Regards,

Matej

Hi Matej,

No changes to the UHDT liveries and Flight Deck Textures that I am aware of,

If you do spot something that needs correcting though, & we'll hop on it :)

please do post it on our Forum,

Thanks :)

The SP1 has fixed the flickering issues.

I did all kind of hard tests where I knew that in certain situations I got flickering before, now it's gone:) IMO it's the best handflyer in FSX, the FDE is amazing & the system simulation, interactive learning, checklists & schematics makes it nr:1 classic, I can truly recommend it, you wont regret it, if you like old school airliners!

Totally agree.

And that's why we are giving the bird the voice treatment soon, so people can fly it in a simulated Multi Crew Environment if they wish.

Nice, grate news!

I would sure appreciate a helping hand from an F/O :) will it be customised with the Coolsky's SOP's?

Affirmative. CoolSky SOPs, with the option to customize them. Could either trigger the various work flows or give specific voice commands to get things done. Everything from setting up the overhead panel down to dialing radio frequencies.

hhhmmm,

I thought it was great untill I got the gfx glitch many had and stopped useing untill SP1, since then it will not even load tried jumping though hoops and trying to find a fix with Espen but like other it will just not load and even when it does, around 1 in 10 times I get OOM and that is something I've never had in 2 1/2 years of FSX on this rig.

It's just to broken and add to that to get super sharp over head etc you have to buy and I did the McPhat addon. The NGX look get at 2048 and if that can any other should, just a money making thing from McPhat.

Back to the NGX for me, blow money on the DC-9 and the VC and 2 livery's addon from McPhat, what a foul, never again.

If and thats a big if, it did work it could have been right up there, but it does not and McPhat made it so you need to buy from them to make it look how it should have out of the box. Like I said never again.

It works for me now that I downloaded the MSVCR80.dll and placed that file in both system32 and SYSWOW64 directories on my computer. Despite having the 2005 through 2010 C++ libraries installed, that file was missing and was the cause of the DC-9 crash. OOM errors are an inherent issue with FSX being a 32-bit application, so I don't put that blame on developers. Not much they can do about that. With the Coolsky DC-9 using standard textures for the VC and external model, at FSDT KLAX with GEX/UTX and Active Sky running, I am seeing around 26-30 fps steady and about 1.8 GB of total memory usage for FSX itself.

Amazing! Since SP1 I have absolutely no problems. The flight model is unbelievably realistic in feel and performance by the book. Complexity of systems is awesome but with features like autoconfig and the interactive training cockpit, you get a feel for how to make the flight work from beginning to end. Absolutely no problems here with OOM or artifacts--absolutely smooth since SP1.

IMO, Gold Star award is right on : )

Have you guys fixed the blurry VC textures in SP1?

I returned the DC9 after a month since I couldn't get it to look sharp, even with the 4096 cfg tweak. Might buy it again if that part's also been fixed.

Hi,

the only way I was able to get rid of the blurry textures was buying and installing the flightdeck mods from McPhat in 4096.

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

Yep you have to buy a sharp VC, well to get a full sharp VC.

Glad some of you guys got it working.

I find my VC textures very clear & I don't have McPhat cockpit mod. But I guess it's a matter of taste...
