Just purchased this addon and made a return trip from Atlanta in it following the POH to the word.....

 

Verdict?

 

WOW! AMAZING! Worked flawlessly for me straight from install. My only "mods" are to have installed the McPhat standard def texture pack and the cockpit colours, remove the liveries i dont need, and assign my desired cockpit colours to each remaining livery. Note i am using all 2048 textures.

 

I havent felt that immersed in a simulated flight since the PMDG NGX was released. And this plane is as fun but for different reasons - so many dials and switches, and fun working the Autopilot/VOR tracking. Love it. Thanks Espen! This will definately be my plane of choice for shorter hops when i feel like a challenge, retiring my NGX to the longer flights or for when i feel like letting the FMC do all the work.

 

So pleased i added this one to my hangar. Now if only McPhat would hurry up and release the Paintkit. They do frustrate me.... Once thatr's released, hopefully someone will paint up a Valujet livery!!! :lol:

These images accord with what im seeing. Slightly fuzzy OH panel in comparison to the rest, but nothing to right home about. I too am using 2048 textures.

I got this aircraft when first released, being the sometime impulse buyer that I am. Thanks to Flight1's 30-day trial policy, I returned it after a couple of weeks. I retrospect, I did so because, 1) I was getting the flickering and weird triangles in the VC and 2) I wasn't ready to really learn the aircraft.

 

Well, I've repurchased it with the service pack, and I'm very glad I did. The service pack has eliminated any and all graphics issues evident earlier on my machine, and I'm really enjoying the retro nagvigation and autopilot on this one. The Flight Center-based checklists, nav trainer, dispatcher, tutorials, and failure simulator are just amazing.

 

I did spring for the McPhat flight deck assortment, mainly because I liked the gray panel better than the light blue one, regardless of fidelity. And the 4096 textures are pretty nice, also.

 

Definately worthy of the AVSIM award.

No blurries here, no red triangles/graphics glitches, and it seems to be working well now. It is a very well done aircraft.

But presumably when both...

 

a. sales volumes fall for their release livery packages; and

b. they decide not to produce any further livery packs

 

Shame Coolsky are not in charge of the release otherwise they would have had it out long ago i am sure.

Point well made and i agree 100%. A very good plane it is indeed. Looking forward to getting some spare time to take it for another spin!!!

I find my VC textures very clear & I don't have McPhat cockpit mod. But I guess it's a matter of taste...

I think its not down to "taste" it's more down to how good or bad your eye sight is.

 

The over head panel is where the main problem is.

If you loaded/had the 4096 texture set the red poor res writing becomes pin sharp like the gauge in green.

No it's not, I guess that's what McPath mod is for...but the instruments & pedestal are. Sounded like you said the whole VC was not sharp without McPath mod, not true. Attaching 2 new pics resized to lower quality since the mod deleted my 2 pics in my previous post.

No I did not but the more you look the more you see but it is as I said above the over head panel is the bad one.

The point is we/you should not have to pay etc to have all the VC look as it should out of the box.
