February 1, 201313 yr De-icing effects are pretty neat! Pity that there's no FSDT on it, but their GSX will have to suffice for their new CYVR.. Rónán O Cadhain.
February 1, 201313 yr De-icing effects are pretty neat! Pity that there's no FSDT on it, but their GSX will have to suffice for their new CYVR.. FSDT says deicing feature will be added in an upcoming update! (Of course they didn't say which one!) Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 1, 201313 yr Anyone have a pic of the new Deicing effects? I own AES but did not install it on my FSX reinstall since I have GSX now. Being a big icing fan (weirdo) I might would reinstall AES if the deicing is better. Kinda off/on topic - I wondered lately - since there are cool crop duster, wheel smoke, con trail effects that look like mist, why those effects can not be used. But i am just an ignorant simmer, not a developer. Probably has nothing to do with on ground effects or something. Rob"Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it"
February 1, 201313 yr Yeah too bad FSDT decided to ditch AES to force people to buy their competing product. Not a classy move IMO. Right now the Aerosoft servers are getting hammered, can't download faster than 8kb/sec
February 1, 201313 yr Yeah too bad FSDT decided to ditch AES to force people to buy their competing product. Not a classy move IMO. That is a perfectly classy move. That's like opening a brand new sandwich shop and having a subway branched next to it. They aren't *forcing* anyone to buy it, they are encouraging it, because it wouldn't make sense to have support to AES, and GEX. You can stop posting your worthless assumptions here anytime now.

What? Of course it make sense to have both AES and GSX support, every AES airport is also GSX compatible... AES does Jetways and De-icing better than GSX and has custom pushback for every stand, GSX is great as a generic solution for every airport, but AES is the best for custom airports. It's not a worthless assumption and why should he stop posting? You seem to be acting more of a troll yourself... Rónán O Cadhain.

February 1, 201313 yr You do know that GEX is free at all FSDT airports right? you only have to pay if you want it at other ones. Indeed, but AES is still better in my books where available. GSX is great where there's no AES available, but AES takes the trophy at airports where it's available... Rónán O Cadhain.

February 1, 201313 yr Indeed, but AES is still better in my books where available. GSX is great where there's no AES available, but AES takes the trophy at airports where it's available... Wasnt disagreeing with you. Just with the poster that claimed it was "Not a classy move". I would say giving GEX for free at all their airports is pretty classy and shows they are not "forcing" people to buy their software. Nick Running
February 1, 201313 yr Commercial Member Yeah too bad FSDT decided to ditch AES to force people to buy their competing product. Not a classy move IMO. The only thing needed from our side to add AES support to an airport, is to provide Mr. Pabst with Gmax/Max source files for the jetways. As already explained on our forum when people asked about this, jetways models in CYVR are the same as in KLAX, which means there wasn't any need for our help to add AES support for CYVR, it can be added anytime without our intervention. The real issue is, with CYVR already providing animated jetways and docking systems as standard, and with GSX being entirely free to use there, how many people would want to pay extra credits just to have slightly better jetways, when the same amount of credits spent on another airport, would gain animated jetways in place of static ones, and (for those that don't have GSX already) the whole ground services ? February 1, 201313 yr Indeed, but AES is still better in my books where available. GSX is great where there's no AES available, but AES takes the trophy at airports where it's available... Not when Virtuali adds de-icing to GSX. An intelligent De-icing would make it a whole lot better/
