mega.co.nz allows anyone to upload anything with no checks on what it is. I'm not prepared to download anything onto my pc from such a site.

Thanks, content is 100% legal and the only reason I'm asking for help here is because this is a forum and I have no reason to post any kind of illegal file here.

 

I personally do not see a problem with the website. Anytime you download from any website you take certain risks. You can attach the file in a new post. Just click on "More Reply Options" in the lower right hand corner of your new post. It will then give you the ability to attach your file.

Yeah nothing wrong with mega.co.nz in particular, no different from all the other websites that allow people to upload files and then for others to download them.

 

The whole court thing against Dotcom was just a big failure, it's not his fault some minority of people used his site to illegally upload copyrighted material there. Dotcom even offered a way for anybody to remove illegal downloads from his site by contacting the site, something that actual pirate sites never do.

 

The real criminals are the greedy forces suing dotcom and other honest businessmen.

 

I've downloaded probably hundreds of different free modicfications, addons and such stuff for countless of games from sites like this, I've never had any problems with viruses or stuff like that.

I could care less about 'dotcom', personally... but I'd sue if I could... so, guess that makes me greedy because I see someone who knows crimes are being committed with their systems and they 'turn around and walk away' because it makes them rich to do so.

 

My moral center has a really, really big problem with that.

 

However... that had nothing to do with my concerns. No one with an IQ above pencil lead would ever intentionally click what is definitely an obfuscated link to who knows what on the internet. Especially from a file sharing web site that's notorious for being used by people who clearly have no moral center.

 

Want me to click a link, it better be really, really clear exactly what the link represents.

I see you are a commercial member? If, what company do you reprosent? Also, if you have a company; was your company loose software through this site in question? I also do not beleive in piateing software, my check book will prove that, also ask my wife. Just thought I would ask?

I currently am not making any commercial addons that you could purchase, however I did a project for Eaglesoft... their Citation X v2.0. I'm not really certain where that's relevant in this discussion as I'm speaking about my thoughts, my opinions... etc.

As for piracy, yes it impacted me personally... thanks for asking... I think.

 

I really don't see the point of your questions at all.

Since the mention is here we'll add to the fact that we echo what Ed has said. Would that all in the community were as opposed to certain activities as Ed and we are.

I personally agree with both of you and if in fact this website is not checking their uploads becomes a problem for sure. When I posted I did not entend to differ with you. The whole truth is now the website has been exposed and that is a good thing. The reason is; I now know what is going on. It dosn't hurt to ask questions, that is how we all learn what is going on. I value the programers that make the great add-ons for our hobby and their work MUST be protected from persons that dilibertly steal from others that work hard to be paid for their hard work that is involved in making the products they sell. I myself was a part in passing a piracy bill in my state because so many people were knocking off products and reproducing them for resale.I also owned a small business that produced graphics for resale and I totally uderstand what a person would feel like when this same thing happens. So yes my question was ok as I beleive exactlly the same as you do and the site should be shut down for illigal paractices, that is my oppinion only. Enough said becase I could go on and on.

Anyway... back on topic... the guy wants help with some SimConnect work with the PMDG aircraft. I won't download from an obfuscated link... sooo... anyone else 'brave' enough to go there? Or did the OP get their help at some point.
