February 27, 201313 yr WARNING: This post was opened in order to motivate and promote peace amongst us simmers. However, I have noticed a few non-peaceful posts from the same folks who try to ruin every product possible (and poison everyone possible). I strongly suggest if that's the only thing you know how to do, this is not the topic for it...Please leave the rest of us in peace, and you can leave in piece! "every product possible (and poison everyone possible" I thought we are discussing the AXE...how does it make it "every product"? "non-peaceful posts" so expressing what you think of a product is "non-peaceful" now? Do you really think you can fool people with such nonsense? Kind regardsR.G
February 27, 201313 yr It`s not fair to compare AXE and NGX. Aerosoft had never said that Axe would be a deep simulation like PMDG`s products. PMDG is the best you can get to FS if you want every little detail to be simulated. But when you don´t need all that little things, what most simmers doesn´t even realize to be there, the AXE is one fine piece of addon. And right now, if you want to fly Airbus, we dont have better option. FSLabs bus might be that some day. But now all of you who want to fly with Airbus, enjoy that AXE and dont bother to fight is it as good as NGX (It´s not but it is on par with that Aerosoft has promised) Welcome to AVSIM! Well said. I agree.
February 27, 201313 yr Moderator I agree with Mike... no matter what you have, just get out there and FLY! What's the use of overanalyzing everything to the point of argument, unless folks are doing it just for the sake of arguing?
February 28, 201313 yr I have been flying sims for quite some time but it was only recently, about a year ago, that I started flying FSX. Civilian sims never interested me that much but I wanted to give it a gosh anyway, my first payware was the A2A B377 and BANG! I was hooked. Since then I've been flying mostly smaller aircraft and helicopters because the mere thought of "tubes" like 747's and A330's made me cringe. Not because of the complexity but more because of the fact that you are basically flying a computer, simulated in a computer over vast expanses of boredom. I grew a little tired of all the low and slow action though and slowly my interest for "tubes" started to emerge. After careful consideration and research I recently purchased two planes, the PMDG MD-11 and the AXE. After a lot of practice and youtube videos (I couldn't make any sense of all the technical abbreviations and the static nature of the manuals) I have now after about a couple of weeks been making succesful flights with both of them. So here's a "noobs" take on it, I find the MD-11 MUCH easier to perform flights in, it might be because it's more properly modeled or because the system of that particular plane suits me better, I'm not sure about it yet. It's a fantastic plane and though it might be a little dated it's still worth every cent I paid for it. Still, the AXE just immerses me like crazy, just like the A2A B377 did/does. The co-pilot, the flight attendent, the absolutely gorgeous cockpit and exterior models, the sounds. I never thought it could be that FUN to fly a tube. IMO, as a non-expert on the subject matter, it's a more complete package but to be honest I have had A LOT of problems with landings etc unlike with the MD-11 where every flight and landing goes 100% hitch free. The MD-11 FMC/G(?) is giving me a lot less grief than the AXE one. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but they also aim for different goals, I love both of them because they compliment each other so well, complexity and sense of achievement is great but having fun is equally important IMO. I don't think I will ever have to buy another "tube" again....unless Aerosoft decides to make an MD-11 that is but that probably won't happen. My 2 € cents.

A combination of Aerosoft Airbus X visuals and PMDG MD-11 systems complexity (for either aircraft) would be wonderful! Consider the upcoming PMDG B777, which will feature advanced automation (perhaps similar to that of the MD-11), improved visuals, and a variety of interesting features not found in older aircraft. B777 manual flight is supposedly responsive and rewarding, and there are numerous real-world short-haul B777 flights. After a lot of practice and youtube videos (I couldn't make any sense of all the technical abbreviations and the static nature of the manuals) I have now after about a couple of weeks been making succesful flights with both of them. I suggest carefully reading the manuals after you have developed a basic understanding of the cockpit and normal procedures, as referring to the most-standard/original source helps prevent misconceptions and resolve ambiguities. This web site provides cockpit orientation and concise explanations of the A320 cockpit's features.

Even this one! :LMAO: I'm telling you !!!
