March 18, 201313 yr Author Hi Vic, - i got my clock back to 4.7, - no idea what the problem was with it, but its sorted now thankfully. Yes it was a big perf it, esp with default a/c and scenery - i just done a flight KMIA-KJFK(both default), and it varied - late teens to late 20's. Maybe i am expecting too much, but from what i have read, i shouldn't see that much of a perf drop, i do have quite a decent pc to run it - its not as if im using any AI or payware airports. Do you have any idea where i would find "daves" settings? thanks. Lol yet Another forum to register with!! Paul Westcott

If you are running unlimited frames - change to 30max and see if that helps - if you are fixed change it to unlimited and see if it helps altho fixed is better for general graphics. If you are getting high 20's at JFK in weather - that's good! High teens and early 20's is more like it at JFK or LAX with weather. Vic I Vic, thanks JFK is default, - although it has introduced a fair amount of stutters, and some tearing, I meant to add that when I posted my cfg. I can be flying round EGPH, default scenery, and that's the same - I could end up with high teens. I must add, that I am also using UTX Europe, and using all of nicks UTX tweaks, and using internal locked as I am usin the half RR vsync. Thanks for the link, I will have a good look at it this morning, and see what changes I must make. The version I just installed, does that include the recent update? Thanks Paul Paul Westcott
March 19, 201313 yr How do you go about picking what weather in the history you want? A date? There's a button over on the left of the main screen (all those blue ones over there) that is labeled "historic" or something like that. Click on it and you'll be able to go back about five years if you want to do. I just simply set up my flight and flight plan and pick an arbitrary date. I don't like flying in the FSX presentation of winter so I use historic wx a lot. I also seldom get to complete any flight at one sitting so even if I would start in real time wx, I would need to pick historic and select the proper date/time in order to complete my flight. Again, all this is in the manual although most of us don't mind your asking good questions like you have been doing. The manual can be a little overwhelming at times and sometimes a person needs a basis in knowledge before delving too deeply into any manual. The manual can be a little overwhelming at times and sometimes a person needs a basis in knowledge before delving too deeply into any manual. It was more a question as to how you go about picking the date you want. I set it to a date once and then just shrugged and had no idea why I would pick one date more than another. So, I was just interested in what criteria you used to select a date. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. March 19, 201313 yr Mostly my date selection is completely arbitrary, other than when I want to continue an uncompleted flight. Not a big deal in my selection process. Having said that, historical wx is extremely useful when you want to fly during one of those "interesting" wx days. But remember the old Chinese curse "may you live during interesting times". chuckle :-) Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

Don't believe so. I'm pretty sure it's the RC version and the Sp updates are not included. Current beta SP2 is version 6 and it contains new graphics - I'd dowload that and install the complete version http://www.hifitechinc.com/downloads you want the SP2 Beta combined update. March 19, 201313 yr Author Hey Vic, thanks Is it not best to wait to install betas until they have been thoroughly tested? Paul Paul Westcott
March 19, 201313 yr Is it not best to wait to install betas until they have been thoroughly tested? Is it not best to wait to install betas until they have been thoroughly tested?IMHO it is. SP 2 has been in beta stage for several months. If you want to help with the testing, why not. But I am not in a hurry for the very latest. Vic may differ in his opinion. March 19, 201313 yr Author Hey Vic, thanks, Well I have installed it now lol, looks like I am a beta tester lolz. Thanks Paul Westcott
March 19, 201313 yr I can confidently say that none of the SP beta versions has been a problem. In fact, each one has added functionality and wonderful
Improvements.
I truly recommend them, my AS2012 is working better than ever now. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
March 19, 201313 yr My two cents, I have been using AS for years and the developers have been great adding functions. There has been no problems with the beta version of sp2 and now we are at the Release Candidate. Yesterday I flew from KSFO to KDTW with some really wicked weather at KDTW, low ceilings and AS was right on to the real weather since I live in Detroit. Broke out of thick overcast at 500 feet on approach. Really fantastic. As far as cloud layers if you go much above 5 layers IMHO you are going to get a frame hit. As I said AS is just great. Bob

March 20, 201313 yr Author quick question here. Can any of the settings be "installed" during a flight? - ie changing from one cloud setting to another etc? Thanks Paul Westcott
